This was a good hotel for my family (2 adults, 2 young teenagers). One room studio layout with a relatively large (by European standards) bathroom. The hotel is run by a husband and wife team who were delightful and attentive. They told us quite a bit about the history of the hotel and clearly have a love for the building, the city, and being good hosts. The included breakfast in the 14th-century dining room was a good way to start the day (pastries, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, cold-cuts, cereal, etc.) As for location, it's close to the city center (5-minute walk), but far enough from the hustle and bustle of touristy-shopping Bruges that you can get away to wander the tight alleys of this medieval city to find a hidden restaurant or store. We parked at a city parking garage for two days and just walked the city for our whole visit. Rented bikes (rental shop around the corner) and rode into the countryside too.
