Great resort!

First time there but loved every minute. The chef will make your dinner very memorable too! Delicious food, lots of choices and everything was perfect. Can't say enough about this resort and I will absolutely be bringing my wife back here again.

Worst resort in the world

Cons: worst resort in the world, read my review
Here's my review from another site, where the lowest rating was 'terrible': “There's no rating lower than 'Terrible!'?” Too bad, there should be for this place, e.g., 'Awful!', 'Stay Away!'. At any rate, to continue: Want to ski at Ascutney? You can't, the skiing is closed for the winter. Want bread at Brown's? You can't get any, there isn't any put on the table. They will toast you a hamburger roll if you ask. Want service at Brown's? You can't get it, there aren't enough wait staff in attendance to give you service. Want heat in your condo or room? If the temp outside is 55 or above, there isn't any. The corporation has decided, from the comfort and warmth of their location in Orlando, FLORIDA, that you can't have any. A space heater will be provided for you until the temp goes down. Want your room cleaned as part of your rates? You can't get it, they don't provide it. You'll have to pay either $15. a day or $26. a day, depending on which front desk person you ask. Want a towel exchange instead, for $7. a day? Don't bother, they SEEM to be typing in your request, but then don't bother doing it. Want to have your party together in one building and think you're getting your request in the contract? You can't get it, since they don't honor requests. Want something to drink out of in your bathroom? You can't, they don't provide cups, you'll have to ask for cups from the front desk. Want a nice stay at a well-run, efficient, customer-friendly resort for a decent price? Well then do not stay at the Ascutney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Room Tip: To choose a good room, go to another hotel. Do not go to the Ascutney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This hotel made me feel welcome

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
The mountain is currently closed/out of business for skiing (Jan 2011) but the lodge is very nice. Huge, remodeled rooms, nice staff. Full sized fridge, full stove, microwave, dishwasher. large table, tv, fireplace, dvd player, free wi-fi. Nice workout facility (separate building) with giant pool, squash courts. All around nice. 20 miles from Okemo.
