The space:
This enchantingly delightful guesthouse studio-apartment has a comfy queen bed, a day-bed/sofa & two big overstuffed chairs.

It also has a small kitchenette that is off to one side of the main living area that features a mini-refrigerator, a toaster and a microwave oven, along with a pour-over coffee making system. .

And there is a stove top hotplate available for light cooking, along with a coffee table that folds up for use as a dining table when needed. The cupboards are stocked with great coffee and a large selection of top quality teas, plus makings for hot cocoa and hot cereals.

A few fun snack treats are also provided, along with juices, small bottled waters, a small carton of fresh milk for your first morning, and more!

The private bathroom in your studio apartment features a tiled shower with loads of extra towels. (Your host also provides a few extra blankets.)

There is excellent Wi-Fi but no TV, so plan to relax, read or take your coffee out to sit on one of the decks to enjoy the breathtaking views; they include views of rocky outcroppings, sea stacks and sandy beaches all along the coast.

If it gets a bit cool just pull out one of the warm-n-cozy freshly washed blankets your hosts provide in a bin that is right there on your deck.

In the evening take a glass of wine, or a bottle to share, and watch from one of the decks as the sun sets below the horizon of the truly majestic Pacific Ocean.

When you get up in the morning put on one of the freshly laundered robes with slippers provided by your hosts and relax into your day.

Guest access:
Guests have full access to everything in their suite, as well as the courtyard, the gardens, two side decks and the top two landings on the beach stairs. And guest privacy is absolutely respected at all times.

Harris Beach State Park can be seen from the outside decks. It is just a short walk from the property (or a one minute drive) and the sandy beaches, tide pools and rugged coastline there make it delightful to explore.

The magnificent driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just five minutes away, and its only a short drive to scenic rivers & giant redwoods.

The beach stairs are currently available only down to the first two landings, both of which have a seating area with views that stretch to the far horizons of the Pacific Ocean. Your hosts will update this listing when those stairs are again fully available. Also:

* The main house bedrooms open onto the back deck so for privacy reasons please don't use it. * If your car leaks oil or other fluids please park in the gravel area just outside the property wall. * Your hosts love them, but pets and service animals are not allowed due to allergies. * Guests are required to sign a disclaimer / liability release on arrival due to the property being located on a cliff above the ocean. (Thanks for understanding.) * The views are from the outside decks, not from inside your apartment.

Would you believe that our amazing clifftop property, with its extraordinary ocean views, had been on the market for five years as part of a large estate when we bought it in 2019?

I had just retired from a career in the medical field & Patrick had retired after selling his real estate office. A friend told him there was a ‘diamond in the rough’ coastal property in Brookings we should see, so we took a road trip to Brookings to have a look. It was overgrown and needed work but for us it was ‘love at first sight’. So we made the best offer we could afford - and the seller's estate accepted it!

When we bought the property we thought our separate guest house would work well as a BnB. It does and we enjoy running it as a small business. One reason for that is that we seem to consistently attract wonderfully kind and delightful guests.
