Salem is well known for their witches but has become a year round destination whether looking for beautiful beaches, Whale Watching with the worlds largest mammals on earth or spending a romantic holiday with beautifully decorated streets and fantastic restaurants.

Non-functioning heater, terrible communication with property manager
I rented this place for my elderly mother-in-law and another family member. The radiator heater did not work; I communicated multiple times with the property manager, and also asked to add my husband and mother-in-law as guests so that I did not have to mediate all communication. Eventually, the property manager gave her phone number to my partner, and claimed that she "notified the team" of the issue, but no one ever came to fix it and the manager never followed up, despite my husband calling her repeatedly. My mother-in-law is from a tropical country and was miserable.

We had a wonderful long weekend stay (Friday thru Sunday). The property was nice, but for the money could’ve been a little cleaner & wish there were blackout curtains in the Master Bedroom. Luckily its location is perfect, with easy walks to all the amazing local attractions.

I booked this place in August because I liked the location and the space in the house. I went ahead and booked plane tickets for my family of four. One week before we were supposed to visit, the host tells me they double booked the unit. She offers a different unit for one of the days in my stay. I accept because I didn’t have a choice. I already purchased plane tickets, and everything else in town is booked such as tours/restaurants. The unit they replaced mine was the size of a closet and nothing about it was appealing or close to what I paid for. When asked for a partial refund i was ignored multiple times. I finally reached out to VRBO and the host offered a very small credit compared to the nightly rate I was charged. Very unethical in my opinion. I would not recommend doing business with these people. How would you feel if you bought and paid for a name brand item and was shipped a generic item worth half of what you paid. I ended up receiving zero credit from the host.

Great location and relatively quiet
The condo was very comfortable and close enough to most attractions that we were able to walk everywhere. The rental cost was a little pricey, so it was nice not to spend extra $ on transportation. My 9-year-old loved playing at the playground across the street. The map took us to Washington St. and not SQUARE, which resulted in us being dropped off at the wrong location and walking several blocks with our luggage. Some supplies at the unit were low when we arrived and never got replenished, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, it was a positive experience and I would consider staying at this property again.

From start to finish this process was so easy! The hostess was incredible at getting back to me in a timely manner with questions and was super friendly. I don't think we could have chosen a better spot for our trip to Salem to stay.

Very convenient - close to everything with its own parking space. The condo is lovely - you sense the history but the furnishings and supplies are up to date. We had a few questions and the host responded immediately. We'd definitely rent it again.
