Spacious comfortable loft room, view, train delayed to Como and late to hotel (about 9:15-9:30pm)- no dining options in Bellagio open including hotel Silvio, but they did end up allowing cold appertivo options and wine with some convincing. Bellagio is a beautiful place! Recommend ferry ride to Como.

Hotel Silvio was very nice. We loved the balcony! The balcony had a tiny table and two chairs. Perfect for morning tea. The restaurant was fancy and pretty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The air-conditioning worked well! My only issue and advise ----when you get off of the ferry catch the bus (reasonably close) to the hotel. The bus runs on the hour. Do NOT count on taxis! Lugging the suitcase up the hill was difficult. However, I am in my 50's, have a bad knee with 40 extra pounds on me. However, once you get the luggage into the hotel, the 10 minute walk into the heart of the town isn't too bad. Being away from the heart of town had its perks. It was quiet and we had a splendid view of the water from our balcony. It was also nice to go downstairs at the end of our day and have a glass of wine in the courtyard, with all its pretty lights and attentive staff. The elevator was a little "iffy" at the time, so the receptionist carried our bags up the stairs. They were very helpful there.... really more than any other place we stayed. I would stay there again as long as I had a ride up the hill.

Dust all over ceiling fan in our room, good breakfast, could of had more variety for breakfast. Room was small and tight, beautiful views from the property and dining, nice walk through the Villa gardens close by. Parking if you can get one, hard to get a parking spot once dinner starts if you go out and come back. Free Public parking about 300 m away.

The property was lovely . It was quiet. It was a 10 minute walk into town. The restaurant’s menu definitely tried to bring local Cuisine to the fore front . The front desk person was extremely helpful and accommodating

Nice basic hotel. Quite clean although our shower tray needed a good bleaching. Restaurant lovely. Good breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly. The walk into town is problematic as it’s mainly on a busy road. Down hill on the way in but uphill on the way back which, when you are full of pasta and wine, is not so good. The walk played havoc with my husbands hip so we checked out a day early.

We stayed at the hotel apartments, which we believed to be on the same grounds as the hotel. The 5-10 minute walk up a hill to reach our apts was unexpected. There are no elevators at the apt and we carried luggage up to the 4th floor, which was also unexpected. The room was large and comfortable enough for three people but the sofa couch was uncomfortable. The room was clean and we had a decent view of the water (the lower rooms do not have a view). The apt had a kitchenette but it was poorly stocked - it had a fridge, electric kettle, and some utensils and glasses but no coffeemaker or coffee. The bathroom was roomy but the shower did not drain and you wind up standing in ankle deep water. Despite requests for this to be looked at, it’s unclear if anyone came. We also requested extra towels which never arrived. Instead, they placed the towels from the floor back on the towel hooks. The front desk staff was very nice and did try to accommodate us by driving us to the apt in a car upon arrival and departure. However, while we saw other hotels send cars to the town center to pick up guests from the airport and dinner etc, Silvio does not provide this. The highlight of our stay was the excellent restaurant. The staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating. And the food is very good. The absolute standout is the local fish with risotto. It’s a regional specialty and a must try. It was a true highlight of our entire stay in the Lake Como area.
