Walking tour through the Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery

Know Before You Book

  • We go rain or shine. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. You may purchase water before the tour.

What you can expect

Explore one of the world's most dazzling residential neighborhoods with NOLA's most knowledgeable guides. Experience the architectural splendor of the live-oak lined “American” sector of town, and examine the antebellum era “Creole vs. American” conflict. Highlights include the St. Charles Avenue streetcar; the homes of Anne Rice, John Goodman, Nicolas Cage, Sandra Bullock, and Archie, Peyton & Eli Manning; the cornstalk fence; the death site of Jefferson Davis; and the Benjamin Button film site. Visit Lafayette Cemetery #1, an evocative aboveground graveyard which features an Interview with the Vampire film site. The tour emphasizes history, architectural style, personal anecdotes, and tropical plant life. (Cemetery closed some Saturday afternoon and Sundays.)
