Known as the “City of 7 Hills,” Lisbon has been the capital of Portugal since 1385. With a history rooted in the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Celts, Romans, Moors, and various medieval kingdoms, the city and its architecture boast a uniquely blended personality found only on the Iberian Peninsula. Lisbon exudes modern culture and charm amidst its ancient architecture and traditional ways.
Your private Lisbon tour begins in a relaxed manner with a gentle walk through the historical center. We will explore monuments, beautiful squares, grand churches and cathedrals, charming neighborhoods, and historic ruins. Lunch will be enjoyed near the riverfront, followed by a visit to Belém. Here, we will explore the iconic Tower of Belém, the Discoverers Monument, Jerónimos Monastery, and the famous “Pastéis de Belém” custard tart shop.
Please note: The half-day tour focuses exclusively on the historical center or exclusively in the Belém area.
If your senses have been awakened, you can extend your Lisbon experience into the evening with the soul-stirring sounds of Fado music. This portion of the tour is flexible, allowing dinner (excluded) to be arranged at your discretion, offering a full range of gastronomical options (not included). Restaurant arrangements can be handled by your Lisbon guide, who will ensure transportation to and from your hotel (excluded from this package).
Other day trips from Lisbon include enchanting Sintra, the medieval town of Évora, the fishing village of Nazaré, the fortified town of Óbidos, Knights Templar sites, the Fátima pilgrimage and many more.
