Know before you book

  • Be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.
  • Must have personal automobile insurance. Foreign drivers must provide Supplemental Liability Insurance and purchase Rental Collision Insurance on day of rental.
  • Be present at the time of the rental to complete contract.
  • All drivers must be registered on the rental contract.
  • Must be able to drive a stick shift/manual transmission. Unless booking "HONU" automatic buggy.
  • One registered driver will also need to Authorize Use of a credit card for purchase of optional insurance policy deductibles, if accident occurs and /or any other incidentals.
  • Due to inclement weather, we would make a decision for the refund the day of the rental. Please keep in mind that showers and storms will blow in and blow out quickly.
  • No off road use. Our buggies are only allowed on paved roadways and dirt parking lots. Our buggies are equipped with GPS tracking devices, so we will be notified as soon as the buggy enters onto a dirt or lava road. There is a 500.00 dollar charge for attempting "off road" excursions.
  • Foreign drivers license must be in English language.

(PRICE IS PER BUGGY NOT PER TRAVELER) Grab your crew and head out in your very own convertible, street legal super styling, fun buggy! At Big Island Buggy YOU choose where and what you want to see. Our buggies travel along at highway speeds, so you and your crew can see more beaches, towns and our beautiful island!
We offer one 2 seat and three 4 seat VW dune buggies.
For your convenience, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and soft cooler are provided upon request at no additional charge. We have also equipped them with USB ports to charge your cell phones. At Big Island Buggy, we believe you will have the most fun you have ever had in a car rental!

  • Red TIKI 4 seat Standard Transmission. Full size seats with open storage area behind rear seats.
  • Green HONU 4 Seat Automatic Transmission. Same size as Tiki, except automatic.
  • Blue MAKO 4 Seat Standard Transmission. Bench seat in back.
  • Yellow Tang 2 Seat Standard Transmission. Extra storage behind seats for all beach gear or luggage.

RENT FOR THE DAY OR YOUR ENTIRE STAY. Available pickup times for 8hr. rentals are from 8am-10am. We will contact you after booking.
Our cars are not 4x4, no off road. Please read Know Before You Book section for restrictions.
