Located in the easternmost part of São Miguel, Nordeste is considered the most beautiful region on the island and has even been recognized as the most flower-rich area in all of Europe.
After your 9:00 AM pick-up in Ponta Delgada, we head across the island to our first stop: the breathtaking Salto do Cavalo viewpoint. From this peak, enjoy astonishing panoramic views over Povoação, the first settlement on the island, and the coastline stretching far beyond. We then continue to the charming town of Nordeste for a delicious lunch.
The adventure continues through the stunning Serra da Tronqueira, where we enter a lush forest, home to the rare Priolo bird (Pyrrhula murina). On clear days, you’ll also have the chance to admire Pico da Vara, São Miguel’s highest point, rising 1,103 meters above sea level.
On the return to Ponta Delgada, we’ll stop at several scenic viewpoints along the East and South coasts and visit Povoação, making this a truly unforgettable journey through the island’s most picturesque landscapes.
