Checking in was easy. The associate that check us in was ok but very distant but not nasty. It is not a bad thing but we are used to a more friendly greeting while checking in.

I felt that the price we were charged was high for a hotel on the highway and not in town, but the room and bath both were spacious, decorated nicely and clean. We dined in the restaurant for a weekend buffet breakfast, which was pretty good too. Convenient location, close to major arteries and lots of shopping. 15 minutes to downtown.

I choose this hotel based on reviews and its proximity to the Charleston historic district. I was surprised to arrive and find it was not in the best area. When I arrived it seemed like there was a large party going on, so I jokingly asked if the clerk would put me into a nice quiet location/room. I had to drive to the back to an attached 2 fl building (not in the main building) which surprised me. The room next to mine had a house party with loud music and the hallway reeked of pot smoke. I went into my room, checked it out, sat on the bed which squeaked, to find ripped sheets. The hotel hallways etc were not clean or well kept. And entire row of fence panelling in the back lot clearly caved in/fell down a while ago. There was a guy parked in an old open pick up truck full of junk GRILLING ON A HIBACHI IN THE PARKING LOT!! As a single traveling woman I did not feel safe or comforatable there, so I checked out. The clerk was rude and barely acknowledged me never mind bothered to apologize. Disgusting experience.

This was a quick drive to area sights, good food nearby and very clean and quiet. Perfect for a stay with a larger family and they offered adjoining rooms.
