This house needs some serious TLC, the property over all is old but it is not clean. When we arrived the dishes were dirty, the pool was dirty too. I had to message the owner to come clean the pool. We

NOT your home away from home

The listing was more or less accurate (number of rooms, sleeping capacity, distance to attractions) BUT DID NOT PREPARE US FOR WHAT WE FOUND. Nice pool we enjoyed. Plenty of towels , Other than that-->> Bad neighborhood! Iron bars on windows and doors on nearby buildings. Most homes decaying and ill maintained, built prior to WW2. As noted in prior reviews and NOT RESOLVED: A/C inadequate, RAT infested (we found poop and saw 1 live rat in the fireplace), wooden patio has splintering boards, nails sticking up, and thorny weeds growing thru it. Very musty smell, Odd and inconvenient floor plan. Only way to get to the pool is thru either of two bedrooms. Very narrow lots which puts neighbors and their music only a few feet away. Many, or most of the electrical outlets are not grounded. This means you might not be able to plug things you, brought, i.e., your laptop, hair dryer, etc. No vent fan in either bathroom, The front door will not latch closed and must be dead bolted from inside to keep closed. Pocket door to added on bathroom will not completely close and won't lock. Water pressure in the kitchen was very minimal. The house built in 1941, was probably originally a 2br/1ba and has had a 3rd bedroom and 2nd bath tacked on later.resulting in a floor plan that lacks convenience and privacy. It shows much deferred maintenance and has been for sale for at least 18 months with no takers. What we experienced in this rental did not measure up to what we paid!

San Antonio stay

House was good, can tell its an older house but has been updated nicely. Privacy was sort of an issue since there were 2 rooms connected by a door but that's the layout of the house not the fault of the owners. Response of the owners was fabulous! Ive never had anyone respond so quickly and ive been using VRBO for years. Location was close to Fiesta which os why we were there.. Kids loved the pool and the backyard was nice to have for our puppy. Overall a good place.

Nice for the most part, but

I know it got up over 100 degrees, but this house was very warm throughout most of the house. Only at night would it get somewhat cool. The system struggled and I feel needs to get replaced and supply lines replaced as well. The electrical system is very old as well and needs to be replaced with a 3-wire system. I set up my laptop at dining table and plugged into kitchen counter. 2-wire outlets were present throughout house. You need to be careful on the back deck loose boards, splintered wood. Weeds with thorns coming out of deck. I tried pulling out myself and this is how I knew they had thorns. Overall this house was okay. Location was great plenty of stores and restaurants around the area.

huisache property

perfect quiet and peaceful stay. lots of space for family to stretch out. the pool and outdoor space was awesome, as was well stocked kitchen, large dining table, and washer/dryer availability. YAY!

Cute home 8 minutes from The River Walk

The home we rented was very cute and cozy. The Furniture and decoration was nice. It has three bedrooms , two bathrooms, and the living area has a couch that pull out to a bes. Also the back yard has a really nice pool and the back yard is fenced which provides privacy. The communication with the host was very prompt. I did have an issue with the payment for the reservation I was charged twice but they did correct everything and return me the extra payment. The neighborhood was quiet and had no problems with the location of the property. The only thing that I did not like is that when I arrived there was trash bags that were in the end of driveway But I don’t think this is the hosts fault it may be the previous people that rented it. Also one of the restrooms had been used and left u flushed. I flushed it but it was gross. We picked up the trash outside that was already there because we didn’t want to get blamed for it. Also when I areavjde I notified them By email that there was trash already there when I arrived. I took off two stars because of the restroom being left used And trash outside that I had to pick up. Aside from that check in and checkout as well as the stay was great. No problems with neighbors and no foot Traffic.

Disappointed

Rented this property for a vacation with my kids and found a dead rat and a rat trap at the front entrance area!! The pictures of the inside looked nice but I never entered the home once I was greeted in that manner. I immediately cancelled and called the owner!! I was "assured" that there are No Rodents inside the house and that I wouldn't receive any refund per the contract. All on Father's Day...Very Disappointed!!

Relaxing Retreat, Great shaded Yard, Nice Heated Pool

Great communication with the Host. We had a few concerns that were addressed quickly. The backyard and pool were utilized to the full capacity, jumping into the heated pool was exactly what we needed after a long day. Everything from the Airport to the Alamo were close. The neighborhood is upgrading, one block is beautiful, the next woah. A book of close restaurants or grocery stores would have been helpful but traveling around allowed me to see beautiful old homes. Grocery store and delicious Mexican Food are three blocks away :)
