Cold Week in February

We were staying in San Antonio to tour the Missions National Parks (including Alamo), attend The San Antonio Rodeo and experience the River Walk. The location of this house was a short drive to all. The house was much cleaner than expected as earlier reviews were not good on that issue. The kitchen had very nice appliances and good cookware. Plenty of plates, utensils and drinking glasses. We had researched before arriving that there were no stores for groceries nearby, so bought what we thought would need before getting into town. Beds were fine. The living room furniture was not the most comfortable, but we were only in the house in the evenings. We learned that houses in this part of Texas are not equipped with furnaces to keep up with mid 20's at night. We were offered a space heater by our contact with management, but we declined this offer. This was our mistake, as the house got pretty cold. The neighbor was okay, but we did not feel comfortable going for walks. The security system in the house gave us some comfort. This house is just fine for a short stay.

Cockroaches

Cockroaches. The night we checked in, 12/30, upon exiting the shower in the master bathroom there was a massive 2 inch cockroach. We were unnerved to say the least, having 3 small children sleeping in the other 2 bedrooms. We contacted the property manager and he said said he'd send pest control the next day. We were there when pest control sprayed (just the interior of the house was sprayed) and it seemed a little bizarre from the get-go. The pest control and property manager are friends. He did not do a thorough job and told us we had nothing to worry about. I tried to believe him but had a different gut feeling. Fast forward - we open the kitchen utensil drawer and there is cockroach poop everywhere - all of the utensils that we have been using - feeding our children with. The 2 drawers under the top drawer also have cockroach poop. I open the kitchen sink cabinet and there is another massive 2 inch cockroach. We are completely disgusted and immediately contact the property manager, Glenn. He seems completely put off by the fact that he needs to get a cleaner in the house immediately. After several conversations, he agrees to send a cleaner around 10am. Upon coming back to the house, only the top drawer has been cleaned and all of the utensils have been put in the dishwasher and the cockroach from cabinet was removed. Floors where roaches were were never cleaned and Glenn informed it couldn't be a "full ball" cleaning. Please be advised-families should know

Location great. Hse nice. Bedroom 1 door would not closed and sharp knives should be sharpened. There was no dishwasher pod but person dropped some off. Cleaning person could do better. Bedroom 2 had something sticky on cabinet and bedroom 1 had sequins in the carpet.

Concert getaway

Great location for our trip. Beds were comfortable and the living room area was nice and open for us to all be together. Extra toilet tissue, paper towels and soap would have been nice (we ended up making another trip to the market for these items). We also had to purchase our own coffee and condiments, seasonings, etc. also missing were dish towels and extra garbage bags. The bedroom doors don’t close all the way, and the AC doesn’t reach all the rooms. It got quite warm during the night. Overall, it was a very nice rental.

We liked it!

Love the character of the house, that being said you have to “overlook” the oddness of it. There is one bedroom, probably with the intention of being for kids, that is only accessible through 2 ways, a bathroom that is shared with a small bedroom and with the owners suite. So basically all rooms are attached by doors or pocket doors. The only issue we had was the air conditioner not keeping up. The unit is plenty big enough to cool the house but I don’t think the maintenance people have changed the filter (it looked to be full), it could need Freon or the ductwork is off. The temperature wasn’t unbearably hot, just really warm. I rent VRBO’S with the intention of saving money on eating out, the last thing I want to do is pack condiments. You will need to bring your own condiments and coffee. We ended up eating out and ordering take out. The house is so close to downtown fun but you wouldn’t want to walk there just because of all the walking you will do downtown. At first you might feel unsafe in this neighborhood but not once did we have issues. The owner did a great job with security. This neighborhood takes pride in their homes and it just felt friendly. TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS HOUSE, we liked it.

Was good for what we were there for. Needs more cooking utensils and extra TV's. Some doors don't stay closed completely but it is to be considered since it is older home. Would not be a good idea if anyone is handicapped.

We felt very comfortable at this cozy Southtown cottage. The location very convenient to downtown San Antonio attractions and to Fort Sam Houston were we attended our son's AIT graduation.

Location and front key lock

Close to the main town but location is up and coming. House is good except front key not working. They fix the code. Instructions were not thorough, missed a step doable to open the door. Lock itself is loose and needs to be replaced as even after getting fixed, still hard to open.

Spring break

This property was very clean and close to the Riverwalk area. There was a fence on the outside of the property for added safety but was also a hassel getting in and out. Very quiet neighborhood felt safe the whole time. I would stay here again and highly recommend this property.

Adorable!

The house was the perfect size for the 5 of us. The location was great. We were 10 minutes from the Riverwalk and other cool places to visit. There were plenty of everything we needed upon a late night arrival. The back porch was perfect! We'll be back!

House

The house was nice the neighbor hood is up and coming. You have to make the codes simple we never got hooked up to the internet so we had to sign in every time we Left the house or in the morning also. I would still tell people to stay there we felt very safe. We enjoyed are stay in San Antonio.

Annual friends trip

We enjoyed the house. It had everything we needed upon arrival. 5 girls wit enough room for all of us and our “things”. Felt safe with the gate that locked, however the neighborhood felt safe anyhow for a group of girls. Great backyard area with seating to enjoy some beautiful Texas weather ! Appreciated we did not have to worry about stripping down beds upon leaving since we had an early flight out ! Overall great place, and would stay again !

Nice Vacation Home

The house is beautifully furnished and impeccably clean. Although it's not within walking distance, it's conveniently located near the River Walk.
