Great location to beach and pool

We were a little surprised when we first got there. You can tell the cottage is dated but loved. It was clean. The bed was comfortable and bathrooms adequate. My husband loved the TV on rainy days.

Charge me an extra $100 for a sink that was leaking that I was not aware of and did not use and was

On the day we left we notified the people that picked up the laundry that the bathroom sink was leaking and they still tried to charge me $100 after I was kind enough to pay them for a dog deposit that they overlooked

Polar plunge 2023

I’ve stayed in Ocean lakes for years. And we have never had a issue with a VRBO Rentals We had a couple issues with this rental. One of the front burners on the stove doesn’t work If the light is on in the kitchen and we used the microwave the breakers tripped turning off the power to the unit And when we arrived there was no heat after contacting the owners realized the entire unit was heated with 2 small space heaters They worked but the cords got really warm at the outlet so we unplugged them when we left and plugged them back in when we returned We love Ocean Lakes but will be renting other units in the future This unit is in need of basic but necessary maintenance to the electrical wiring . Considering the other comparable rentals in the neighborhood are the same price as this unit And the pictures provided were the same description of a camper with an addition unit I never considered that the heating or wiring would be a problem Lesson learned,

Great get away !

We Had a great time with our family . Small area but pretty efficient. House was very clean . We was able to bring our dog which was a plus ! We love oceanlakes campground the amenities are awesome , we come every year . Property manager responds very quickly and makes the process effortlessly from booking to checking out . I will say the beds could be better for the price of the place .

Surprise, Surprise, surprise

The pictures portrayed more than what it really was. As far as size. No privacy between bedrooms, 2nd bath so small you have to open the shower door to sit on the toilet. The hallway was only about 18 inches wide. It was a very old camper modified into a cottage.

Smaller Cottage

I am considering purchasing a home in Ocean Lakes and decided to stay a few days to tour some homes. I chose this home because the description states sleeps 6 and the cute photos. There are places for 6 to sleep but overall I don’t feel 6 people will comfortably fit in this home for any length of time. If you are planning to be there for more than a few days probably choose a larger home. Decent cottage for the price. Served the purpose.

Beach Shack

Great lil beach shack in Ocean Lakes. Close to beach and water park but highly recommend renting a golf cart still. The house is small but most our days were spent out or cursing on the golf cart anyways. Sam was very responsive with all requests/ communication. It’s not up to date but has all the essentials needed to make a great stay at the beach. The budget reflects the house shack. Pet friendly was a huge perk for me.

Remodel time

The pictures do not show the inside of this small house very well! The floor has more waves than the ocean. The kitchen drawers feel sticky and most dont open correctly. If your over 200 lbs. No way you fit down the small hallway or in the small bathroom. In the bigger bathroom, the shower leaks water all over the floor.... the property is just outdated! During our one week, the a/c quit working & we had to deal with a repair man about 5 to 6 different times & the automatic lock on the front door quit working...became more hassle than vacation! Our family loves ocean lakes but we'll never stay at this rundown shack again.

Small is an under statement

Property was extrememy small, not taken care of, flooring rippled and torn, outside dirty, grill so bad it was not useable. Would not recommend this rental. Owner was helpful when setting up entry arrangements.

Cozy shack

Things I would want to know... Prime location to everything which is why we stayed here - easy to walk but more fun to drive golf cart (have to rent separately from ocean lakes for about 500 for the week). Property is shaded, quiet street. Not a great porch for lounging tho since it's small and tucked between other homes, but if that's not your thing and just need a place to sleep, wash up and eat - then this would work. Inside was clean and cute, but not much space if you have more than 4. Gotta adjust as you walk around with the changes in flooring levels, lower ceilings, tight walkways, and metal bed frames - if you're like us and not used to this style of housing. Pull-out sleeper sofa was difficult to use due to spacing and door - we used twin blow up mattress and it worked much better. Loved having a rocker/recliner. Grill needed a good cleaning. Porch chairs were rusty but we just used them to store our beach stuff. Overall, it was as expected with the listing, and we loved Ocean Lakes! Was worth it!

Beware!!!

This property is not as pictured. Looks very beautiful but when you get there it's run down and not very clean (I own a cleaning business). Furniture is ratty and beds weren't made when we arrived at 11 pm after a long trip. Cleaning people are liars as they indicated that after we left there was dog urine on the comforter, which is completely false as I DID NOT HAVE PETS!!!! I don't care what photo's they have. I cant even open the photo to view it. It's really disappointing the business dealings of these people. So dishonest and now I have to eat a pet fee for pets I never brought. Unbelievable that people behave this way. I guess it's the world we live in. Other than that the campground is beautiful and wonderful for family. Lots of things to do for children and the beach is beautiful. I'm just telling you, don't deal with these people. SHAMEFUL!!!
