Dirty House

Bathroom shower/ceiling full of mold & mildew. Reported & someone came on Tuesday & sprayed but said he needed to come back with something stronger & never returned so we couldn’t use that bathroom. Ceiling fan not working in bedroom. Kitchen/living room floor dirty. Missing piece of molding missing on step. Rusted broken white table outside unusable. Filthy cushions on lounge chairs outside on deck. Very disappointing stay for the amount of money we paid!

Miramar stay

The condo location is actually superb, right on the beach and the bedrooms are plentiful- 2 rooms with a king size bed in it, one room with a queen size bed in it, and another room with two twin beds, and a set of bunkbeds that are both full-size bunkbeds. The only issues with keeping this from being a 5 star rating- the furnishings in the living room are older and the parking is Hinky. The parking is at such an incline that you have to pull out with your foot on the brake and on the gas at the same time to prevent you from rolling backwards and when you park, you have to keep your parking brake on. Also, the instructions said that we had to park one car behind the other. If you do that, the back car is literally only 1 foot from being in the road. However, there is room for 2 cars to park by each other but it’s pretty tight. Several have commented on this property in reference to having roaches, we did not have an issue with that, I only saw one in the four days we stayed. Overall though, the property location is wonderful and it has three balconies, which are also pretty nice.

Good location

Too many roaches and bugs in the unit. We bought bug traps on our own to try to get rid of them. Main bedroom upstairs was too hot to sleep in so my son and his wife moved to the other br upstairs, especially after they had roaches crawling on the ceiling and walls. Lower main bedroom lamp is broken, rusty toilet paper stand. Broken bathroom cabinet door. Bare outlet to entry which does not meet code. Outside patio furniture rusted and broken. Light fir the microwave not working. Path to the beach under the stairs full of empty beer can boxes and other trash. We basically felt the owner just wants to make money and doesn't care about how unkempt the unit is. Won't be leasing from Vacasa again.

It was Ok, the beach was beautiful but to have to fight with people for a spot was unreal everyone across the road would get it so not a 10 foot from beach private spot at all. also the appliance Freezer would not even open the worst was the roaches , i can’t handle that they were climbing up the wall in stove and clock area then i had 2 in my take home bag i could totally cry. please clean and spray a bit before u just rent them daily.

A Disastrous Stay at Summer Haven Beach House in Destin, Florida

Nightmare experience. Property was falsely advertised, particularly regarding the private beach. The broken gate provided zero security, allowing anyone and everyone to access our so-called "private" beach, effectively rendering the claim of exclusivity utterly meaningless. I contacted management about all the people on our private beach and they tried to tell me that the beach is not private. I told them there were multiple signs on the beach stating "private beach for Summer Haven Owners and guests" and it even states on the welcome sign inside the condo "Be advised that you have a private beach up to 10 feet from the water line." There were multiple cockroaches, as noted by a prior review. Management replied to that review that the roach problem had been dealt with, but we still saw cockroaches everyday. Minimal household supplies were provided. One roll of paper towels and 2 trash bags for a week long rental for a group of 12, that's ridiculous. No spices or condiments at all. Freezer door got repeatedly stuck and the maintenance guy management sent over couldn't fix it. Not only was it inconvenient, but it also posed a significant challenge for storing perishable items during our stay. We had to leave a LOT of frozen beef and bacon in the freezer when we checked out because the freezer was literally stuck and wouldn't open. Upstairs guest bed was so uncomfortable. We literally felt the bed caving in. There's more, but I'm at the 1500 character limit.

Infested with roaches

I stayed with a group of girl friends from high school. This condo was completely infested with roaches. Also, there were a lot of noise issues in middle of the night including construction and power drills in the adjoining condo. I do recommend staying here unless the property management gets the roach problem fixed.
