July 4th week Destin

We had a great time at the house. It was perfectly outfitted with everything we wanted and needed. The cabana house a was an awesome addition. The layout was perfect and suited our family to a tee. Plenty of space and bathrooms. The kitchen was essential to our nightly meals which allowed family to sit around the counter and chat while making meals.

Destin Fun

Cobia Cabana is in a great location on Crystal Beach. A very short walk to the public beach access ( Unfortunately, Florida and/or Destins beach access for people living off the beach is very limited). The main house and carriage house were very clean and comfortable. The main house layout worked very well for our family. The children were very excited about their accommodations and alone space. The kitchen is well organized with all possible cooking needs. The pool and deck area was a fun place for the family to gather privately. BBQ oven was usable, but well past it’s time. I would recommend the Cobia Cabana for any large family gatherings.

Beautiful house in a great location.

Easy walk to the beach. House has recently been updated. Comfortable beds and furniture. Plenty of towels and bathroom accessories. The beach was amazing.

Nice house

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the home. 2 minutes walk to the beach and plenty near by entertainment businesses to enjoy. The only issue we had was the golf cart only had 4 seats and we was promised a 6 seater golf cart. When we brought the issue to management.The management was able to resolve the issue. We will definitely return for another fun visit

Family spot

This house was amazing for my family, very spacious and comfortable. The third floor with 3 beds was perfect for our teenagers they had the top floor to themselves. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils for all of our cooking needs! Plenty of seating for our family breakfast and dinners. The pool in the backyard was perfect to lounge at after a hot day on the beach. I would definitely recommend this house! Walking distance to the beach access and plenty of stores in driving distance.

Reunited and it feels so good.

17 of us got together to celebrate a 50th anniversary. House accommodated all of us very well. Plenty of room to sleep, teens on 3rd floor and close beds for little ones. All loved the pool. Couple things needed attention and were taken care of immediately. Walked about 2 blocks to the public beach. Even went "crabbing" one night on the beach. Enjoyed our time in Destin.

Beautiful Property

We enjoyed our stay at Cobia Cabana! It was big enough and roomy for the whole family and the additional guest house was a plus. It was a block away from the beach so we didn’t have to do much driving which was great. The kids enjoyed the private pool and floaties that were included to relax. We love to grill so the gas grill came in handy for majority of the nights we stayed in to cook family dinners. We will definitely book again in the near future!

Thanksgiving at Destin

It was mostly done online which is convenient. But hard to get to talk to a real person when you needed to. The only problem we ran into was it was advertised that it had a basketball court and we had some that would have loved that. But there were no hoops. I called & reported that but no one ever contacted me about it. So they had to find a place to play basketball. Everything else was provided and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great location, a few issues with the house

When we arrived the pool was green and the grill is totally unusable - it was so filthy. We called the propety manager and it took 3 times to get someone to call back The pool man came, took care of the algae but turned the heat on. When we went to used the pool it was 97 degrees. Thank goodness we brought our own grill since we planned on grilling the whole week. Also the microwave in the cabana is broken.

Maintenance issues and cleanliness of the property is unacceptable

1.kitchen refrigerator in main house doesn’t get cold and the ice make only dropped 6 ice cubes in 4 days. (Freezer were ice drops is disgusting and needs cleaning)… Handle broken on freezer door. 2.). Carpet on the stairs is filthy ( needs replacing ASAP 3.) sink under kitchen cabinet is leaking and hasn’t been cleaned. 4.) The pool skimmer was gross and disgusting. This should be taken care of prior to our arrival. The pool was filled with sand and Chlorine was present in the water( this is a health hazard)! We lost a 1.5 days with this amenity and no one apologized for the sloppiness or horrible management service 5.) The cabana house shower caddy is protruding thru the ceiling and likely will precipitate mold growth. 6.) The grill was unusable and not cleaned( this should be checked regularly) 7.) The grounds were inferior to the surrounding properties… pine straw was absent, debris was plentiful in the front areas, the pool area was littered with trash and presented as being unkept. 8.) Wasp nests are present in multiple areas which again says no maintenance is being performed. 9). The HVAc unit is too loud and needs attention 10.) The light in the kitchen area does work( located on fan) 11.) Golf cart battery was dead on Friday. Again, we lost a 1.5 days with this amenity. 12.) There is no 24 hour maintenance call and their should be someone to handle these problems( maintenance called on Saturday afternoon) In summary, the owners need to hire a new management company and then the owners need to be accountable for posting pictures and ensure the property is inspected prior to stays or rentals. Everyone is paying good money for this property and it should be ready and not have 12 obvious problems!!! I request a rate reduction based on all of these problems I encountered within property. We gave pictures and can provide them as proof for what we witnessed here!

Overall it was a good stay. Upon arrival the pool was murky with grass and sand at the bottom. Bedroom tv in the Cabana house didn’t work. The washer and dryer was inconveniently in the master bedroom upstairs. The dryer glitched at one point and wouldn’t allow setting changes. The AC upstairs was extremely loud.

What a Great Place!!!

We were a large group of 15 fun loving girls! The house was ready before 4 and that was fantastic! Everyone loved the space and there was plenty for everyone. The pool was awesome. Best of all , the house is just a short walk and was literally around the corner.

Family Getaway Fail

While I was impressed with the photos and the location of the house, the reality was it did not impress. The house is very dated: paint peeling off the house, extremely soiled carpet on the stairs, spiderwebs visible in every room and rusty metal toilet-paper holders that are barely hanging on. Being a VRBO loyalist and having a rental of my own, I have yet to see a home in this poor shape, especially for the price listed. Not being familiar to Destin, the beach situation was upsetting. Upon arriving, you will find that along the miles of gorgeous beach front there is only a tiny, narrow "public beach access" section for the layman. Be prepared to either pay $120 a day for a beach chair set (because the house does not come with anything worth taking - disappointing) or get there at 6:00am to grab a spot. During our stay, the power went out in the 3rd floor bathroom and half the bedroom rendering the whole area useless. The manager sent a repairman but my father unknowingly sent him away and he never returned after I sent a message about the confusion. I heard he came after we checked out. The remotes to the TVs were either missing or there were no channels. There were no extra blankets in the bedrooms and not a single game or deck of cards for guests (this may sound impertinent but it's the first VRBO I've stayed in that doesn't provide these things).There are also no bath mats in any of the bathrooms so we had to use towels on the floors. One of the showers would not drain - and since maintenance did not return we had to stand ankle deep in dirty water all week. The grill is also not useable - I would avoid that until they can purchase a new one. Also bring your own garbage bags on day one. If you're like us, we fill it up after we unpack and there was only one extra provided. Over the summer I had messaged VRBO several questions that never got conveyed to the manager. Mike offered his personal number for me to call but is equally frustrated at the lack of communication between the companies. The strong points were the golf cart, the pool and the stocked kitchen. For a house that sleeps 20, there are basic needs that the house lacked and there definitely isn't one room we could all fit in to watch a movie. I feel some TLC would help this place be more fantastic but I would not recommend it to anyone right now. When you're flying people in from all over and splitting a pretty high rental rate, you deserve more.

Family Vacation at Cobia St

Our overall experience was good. The property was conveniently located to stores, restaurants and the beach. The house was very nice with only one drawback. The tub in the cabana house has a very slow drain as well as the jack and Jill bathroom. I alerted the property manager and they said they would send a plumber out but they never did. If this would have been taken care of, I would have had no complaints. The housekeepers did a good job cleaning. I would recommend supplying another broom for the cabana house. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. We will also be returning again.

Great House for Family Reunion!

The place was nice and mostly clean, however, I didn't read the fine print & didn't realize that we would have to provide our own soap, toilet paper, & trash bags after the small amount was gone. The top floor & the carpet weren't clean at all & the blender in the kitchen didn't work. We did try to contact someone, but never got a response. We thought it was crazy that the golf cart wasn't included, being the price that the rental was. Also thought it strange that no beach towels were provided. (We have stayed in beach houses before for cheaper that include all of this.) We had inquired about a pack n play & a high chair & was told that neither was provided, yet there was both. No extra bedding for the pull out bed in the master bedroom and it was kind of a pain to play the car shuffle b/c the driveway is one long strip. The pool man came, but the pool was pretty murky the last day. Overall, it was a great place to stay & my family had loads of fun & lots of room.

Awesome Location and house

House was close to anything to do in Destin. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own private space. House was clean and up to date. Would recommend to anyone on a family vacation or a vacation with friends.
