Filthy, falling apart, deeply neglected
The condition of this home was horrifying. Months, if not years, of dirt and neglect. Every rug had visible debris, party confetti, hair, etc. Footprint-coated hard floors. I reassembled a vacuum left in pieces to try to clean myself, but it spewed a dirt cloud all over my clothes + the floor. Wiped the kitchen counter with Lysol + a paper towel; it was dark brown. Top of the fridge was dirty with food debris + dead bugs. Interior side of the front door was black with dirty handprints. Gobs of black hair + dirt stuck to the bathroom floor. A black nightstand was grey from dust. I called the host to report + didn't initially get through. I called VRBO + the call was dropped halfway through. This is what I could see before the host returned my call + sent a cleaner within 30 mins. She said the vacuum broke for the prior cleaner + they just left. She was friendly + did an okay job addressing these things, but it got worse after she left.
Dark pet hair lined the wood along the stairway. Blinds + back porch screen door were broken. Porch was covered in debris we had to sweep. No kitchen towels or drying rack for the dishes. Kitchen sink did not drain. Microwave was greasy, covered in stains + chunks of food. Floors turned our feet black. Couch was visibly and odiferously soiled. Stained towels + bedding. Dead bugs smashed into the bathroom ceiling. Huge moldy hole in the bathroom wall by the tub; moldly caulking. Spiders everywhere. Smelled like water damage + mold. Do not book.
