Family Thanksgiving

This home is perfect for multiple families coming together to celebrate together. We flew up from Virginia to meet up with our Wisconsin family and spend Thanksgiving together. House is clean, updates, beautiful location!! Both Kitchens are fully stocked, there is plenty of cookware, plates etc!! Two fridges made for plenty of storage even for the turkey!! Now if you could do something about the “feels like 1degree” Wisconsin weather we will definitely come back next Thanksgiving!! lol!! Algoma was a lovely town in the lake and loved the Von Stiehl winery a quick walk from the house!!

This property has it all, perfect fall weekend get-away! Fully stocked, beautifully decorated with everything you need. Communication with property management company was spot on and clear. Can’t beat the location, we’ll be back!

Lakeside a’Lure is AWESOME!!

The house is absolutely beautiful, and it is in the perfect location to walk the main areas in Algoma. Also, it was great to have all of the kitchen tools to make our meals, even crockpots. The views from the “Nest” were spectacular. It was very hard leaving this house. We will definitely be staying again.

Lake Michigan magic

Several couples enjoyed the views at sunrise, sunset and all day. We brought a boat and caught many fish. Loved the beach and the music at the winery. Gorgeous house

Family getaway to Algoma

Absolutely beautiful home in quaint Algoma Wisconsin. Enjoyed an extended weekend with the family and I don’t believe the homes discrimination does it justice. The home is clean, with brand new items. A perfect place to sit back relax, go to the beach, enjoy the local establishments and us the kayaks in the home. We were lucky and booked in the weekend of Shanty Day. Awesome time and Sunday night fireworks were an added bonus. This is a great location with a lot to do. Top 3 VRBO that I have stayed at. Hopefully we will be able to return. Thanks for the great stay.

Walking Wonderland

This was the absolute perfect property for our family celebrating my mom's 80th birthday. 4 nights was the perfect amount of time. My mom uses a walker and the house had railings and ramps to ease her with that. The winery was a short enough walk for her to do and was lovely. Algoma is away from the hustle and bustle of Door County, but still charming. We loved watching the fishing charters coming and going. People were very friendly and the bakery across the street was delightful.

Anglers may want to consider...

We loved the home and all of the amenities, however, anyone who is considering bringing a boat or Angling in Algoma needs to consider several items. Zero options for parking a boat or trailer. We were talked to by cops and the marina several times, because the home had no options for pickup parking (and they all told us conflicting things). There are only "three" spots for the rental and not one of our pickups fit in one of their parking spots. The dock on the property was not equipped to handle our boat. Unless you dock a yacht, you will need more than your bumpers. Our 26 foot HewesCraft didn't work for reference. We had to visit the local hardware store (in Sturgeon Bay) to make stoppers to guarantee the dock and boat wouldn't be ruined. If you are looking to enjoy any sun on the decks it only happens in the morning. The afternoon sun is only visible through the garage, where we ate dinner on several occasions, not ideal. Very fun to walk around a bit in Algoma and the home was comfortable overall. If you are coming for a weekend away and not fishing, you will be good to go!

Incredible property for summer vacation

Our multi-generational family vacation was absolutely fantastic owing heavily to Lakeside A’Lure’s amenities and location! The property is truly unique with two separate living areas and plenty of space for multiple family groups, huge dock / balcony space on the Ahnapee River for dropping in kayaks, fishing, watching the Lake Michigan charter boats, or enjoying a fire in the evening. The house is easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, Crescent Beach, and groceries. Some of our favorite spots were the Von Stiehl winery, Son of Skaliwags and Algoma Pizza Bowl (restaurants) and Cafe Tlazo. If your family wants a great home base to explore Door County but avoid staying in some of the more congested villages and towns, this property is a winner!

Couple’s retirement & fishing trip

We had a great week. The weather wasn’t great but the awesome house and good fishing made up for it. Beautiful home, well-maintained, had everything we needed. It was in walking distance of everything we did all week. We never had to get in our cars to go anywhere after we parked there. Thank you so much! We would highly recommend and hope we can come back for another stay.

Beautiful home within walking distance to several restaurants. Didn’t have the warmest showers a few times and the garage bin was full when we arrived so we couldn’t put our garage in the bin upon departure.

Great place for a weekend getaway

The property was even nicer than it appeared in the listing. It was a great place to relax and unwind for a girls' weekend. There was plenty of room and the upstairs game room was delightful!

Beautiful House / Great Location

Rented this house for an annual get together for 12 friends. We were all impressed with the cleanliness of the house and loved the location and deck. The kitchen was super well and thoughtfully stocked, especially as we made breakfast and/or dinner for 12 almost everyday. There was great space for spending time as a group as well as enough separate space to enjoy some alone time. The sleeping arrangements are really well set up for families with children, but if you are, like us, a group of all adults (over 40), realize that at least two people will have top bunks.

Helped make a wedding weekend special!

Our son got married at the Grain Loft which is right down the road from this rental. This place was perfect...plenty of room for family member to stay and it also worked great as a place for the bride and brides maids to get ready for the big day. It was also great to be right in town for after the wedding fun as well as for a relaxing day at the wine festival the day after the wedding. Lots of space for different groups to find a place to enjoy some conversation. The deck overlooking the water was perfect place to relax. Very happy with our stay. The only difficult thing was finding a place to park several cars but we made it work. Thanks for having us.
