Overall, we had a wonderful time. The cabin was very cute and fun. Our little ones had a blast in it. It has all of the essentials, indoor plumbing, air conditioning, comfortable beds and a refrigerator.
The whole area is very neat. We had a great time playing pool, basketball, ping pong, shuffleboard, the playground, volleyball court and fooseball. The pools and hot tub were fun (although grassy). My 9 year old wanted to go for a "late night" swim (it was a little past 10pm, when the pool closes). The hot tubs were not running, so we were a little disappointed. All of a sudden, they turned on. I happen to catch the owner walking away from the pump room. I think he turned them on for us, even though it was past hours. That really meant a lot to us.
The creek water was beyond freezing for a native Texan, but my children loved it. We us the free kayaks and paddleboards to paddle down the creek and had a great time. The last day, we hiked down the creek a ways and put our feet in the water. We had already checked out of the cabin but decided to spend some more time there. We ate lunch right before we left in the air conditioned commonplace, which was a huge help not having to feed small children in the car and to be able to cool off.
The check-in was a bit strange and frustrating but that is because I did not read my email before coming. We booked through VRBO and expected to be messaged through there, which was not the case. So be sure to read your email and you will be fine!
We really could not be more pleased with the bang for our buck. It is not a 5 star resort, but it is a very fun, affordable getaway for the family. We hope to go back again somewhere down the line.
