Not horrible but probably wouldn’t stay there agai
I want to start by saying the staff was so friendly and helpful. The location was great and the breakfast was worth it. I usually expect beach hotels to be a little run down and shabby but this one had some structural issues. There was a lot of rain while we were staying and at one point the window in the room started to leak. When I took a shower the floor underneath the tub was soft and I could feel it squish. The room was cleanish but when I pulled out the cabinet to plug in the coffee machine I could see that it hadn’t been cleaned.

A good stay- very quiet and clean
Just a couple 1. tub did not have a drain stopper. 2. Using hotels.com in the past, I was able to use apply my stay and gain points with the hotel chain, this time I wasn’t able to. Maybe I missed it, but is there message informing the possibility that points would not be honored by the hotel? Thanks

Hopeful based on photos, reality was disappointing
I was excited to try this location out based on the reviews and photos. The checking in process was easy, the young man that checked me in was friendly and explained stuff to me. Unfortunately when we went up to our room with all our luggage the keys didn't work. Went back downstairs, he switched our room the one next door and gave me a new set of keys. Those didn't work, went back down and he rekeyed another set for both rooms and came to help us. He tried mine first, didn't work and then finally got one of his to work. Inside the room was extremely disappointing. Old and not set up for guest at all. The next morning went to take a shower for our event and we had a total of 1 washcloth, 2 towels and 1 hand towel, not even a bath rug for outside the shower. Go to turn the water on... nothing. Shower handle was loose so we didn't want to pull or twist too hard and break it (I have a video). Tried to call downstairs, phone doesn't work at all, no dial tone or anything. Get back from event, keys didn't work again. Needless to say we had to get our key redone every day. The window shade doesn't black out the room and people walking off the stairs can see into the room, which was a little disappointing as well. Told the reception about water and phone, maintenance came up to deal with the shower and replace the phone. Said he had to change the inside jack out and would do it on Sunday and never came back to change it. For the price I would not stay here ever again.
People could see inside our room, especially at night. There was a shade behind it but it didn't work.
AC/heater is right on the bed.
There was all kinds of dirt and stuff inside so we didn't use it because we weren't sure if it would be safe.
towel rack in our bathroom was broke and you couldn't put anything on it to keep it off the floor.

The only thing worthwhile about staying here was that there was a beach close by and a resort across the street with good but expensive food. The bath tub looked like a crime had taken place amd someone was trying to cover it up. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. We barely slept the first nite because there was fighting and screaming from rooms near-by. As a result my wife didnt feel comfortable staying with the baby and we abandonded our second night. We didn't complain or ask for a refund, we just left and never looked back. I would never stay here again and don't advise anyone stay here ever. Possibly the worst hotel experience I've had in the Bay Area. Side note the staff seemed really sweet.
