Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Check in process was lengthy and asked for irrelevant personal information such as my employer. A $100 deposit was required in addition to the charges I already paid on Expedia, which was not disclosed until I checked in. I should have listened to the red flags and left when I had the chance before check in.
Lobby smelled of marijuana, and elevator and hallways smell strongly of cigarette smoke despite having “all no smoking” suites. Room had a floralish chemical fragrance odor so strong it gave me a headache and made my eyes burn. Facilities were in poor condition - bathroom sink faucet leaking, toilet chipped, cabinets peeling. There was a (presumably used?) diabetic test strip left on the kitchenette floor. No toilet paper was provided in the room.
This is the first time I have stayed at an Extended Stay America, and I will avoid this brand of hotels going forward due to my experience during this stay. I actually contemplated leaving and just being out the $80 for the night rather than endure the stay.
