What you can expect

El Yunque Rainforest offers great hiking trails set amidst exotic vegetation. On a guided tour, head to La Coca Falls and spend time at Angelito Trail to learn about the unique ecosystem you are surrounded by. Complete the day with rainforest views from Yokahú Observation Tower.

A leisurely drive takes you to the trailhead while your guide shares stories and history about the towns along the way. Once at the trailhead, get ready to explore the exotic flora and fauna of the El Yunque Rainforest—one of the oldest forest reserves in the Western Hemisphere. Smell the mix of fragrances from beautiful flowers and fresh ginger growing along the trail as your guide shares local knowledge about the area. This is a true, tropical paradise in which the Taino Indians have resided and considered sacred for years.

Spend time exploring the elevated walkways through the treetops, educational displays, and several walking trails before the journey continues along streams and misting waterfalls. La Coca Falls—a 85 feet (26 m) waterfall—quickly comes into view with its magnificent drop down onto huge rock formations and a shallow-water pool.
