Description

Take this opportunity to discover a new perspective of Mexican culture by visiting the San Juan Market, one of the most famous traditional markets in Mexico City and enjoy the experience of cooking your own typical dish with the help of an expert chef. Definitely a day full of tradition, aromas and flavors from Mexico.

The tour starts at the meeting point in the city center where we will be welcomed by an expert chef and take the subway to the San Juan Market, which specializes in the sale of exotic food and is visited by chefs, restaurants and people looking to buy or try something out of the ordinary.

Markets in Mexico represent the culture and folklore of each place, just in Mexico City there are more than 300 public markets, which have been an important part of commerce since pre-Hispanic times. We will take a tour to the most important areas of the market and learn about its history as one of the main retail food distributors in the city since 1863.
You will experience the purchasing process as a local and we will also obtain the necessary supplies to prepare our own traditional dish, consisting of mushroom chilaquiles and guacamole.

Once the purchases are over, we will return to the city center to take a cooking class with our chef, where you will learn about the preparation of this typical dish.

Our chef will explain the importance of Mexican cuisine and take you step by step through the entire process. While the class develops, you can enjoy a refreshing beer and once the preparation is finished, we will finally proceed to tasting our dish with the other participants.
