We asked Kelly Stilwell, our foodie expert, to check out the options, and we think you’ll agree this is a spot not to be missed when visiting Cabo.<\/em><\/p>\n

Do you consider the dining options when you travel? Traveling for food has become extremely popular. Travelers not only want exceptional food, but they want it made with fresh local ingredients. You’ve surely heard the expressions Farm to Table<\/em> or Farm to Fork. <\/em>Food has become more than an activity we do three times a day, but more of a celebration, especially when traveling. In fact, just this month, Solmar Resorts introduced an exclusive Farm to Table Experience. The culinary journey is led by Grand Solmar Lands End<\/a> Executive Chef Alberto Collarte. When I read that Solmar Resorts had 21 dining options, I was pretty excited to visit. Incredible food with breathtaking views makes for a perfect vacation.<\/p>\n

Dining at Grand Solmar Resorts<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With three different resorts and more than 20 different restaurants, you might find it hard to choose where to have your next meal. Check out all the options and start planning your next getaway to Cabo San Lucas.<\/p>\n

Grand Solmar Ranchos San Lucas<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I stayed at the gorgeous Grand Solmar Ranchos San Lucas<\/a>, so this was where I spent most of my time. At this Solmar property, you’ll find seven places to grab anything from a quick bite with a cocktail to a gourmet dinner with wine pairings.<\/p>\n

Aqua Grill and Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Aqua offers alfresco dining with stunning views. If salads, wraps, and burgers are your jam, Aqua Grill and Bar will be a favorite! Their healthy smoothies made with fruits and veggies will give you a nutritious and delicious boost of energy. For something more filling, I have to suggest the Hot Cakes. They were pure perfection.<\/p>\n

If you’re more in the mood for Mexican, go for the Shredded Beef and Egg Sope. Divine.<\/p>\n

Infinity Pool Menu<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you’re feeling like pizza or sushi, take a look at the Infinity Pool Menu. The sushi combos look amazing. Be sure to browse over the cocktail menu. After all, you are on vacation! I want to go back for the Clove and Watermelon Mojito!<\/p>\n

Anica<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Anica is an upscale restaurant featuring dishes inspired by Baja, a fusion of flavors from Mexico, California, Asia, and the Mediterranean. Resident Chef H\u00e9ctor Lucas is masterful at blending these cuisines, and I loved everything he created for us at Anica. The Shrimp in Garlic Sauce was heavenly. Anica also has a Lobster and Shrimp Soup that is so full of flavor, I considered trying to figure out a way to have it again. It was that good!<\/p>\n

I adore seafood and the Fried Red Snapper didn’t seem to be deep fried like you’d expect from the description, but flash fried to a perfect crisp. The tomatillo sauce with chipotle chili was a wonderful complement. I don’t know how I found room for the Passion Fruit Sponge dessert, but I ate every last morsel.<\/p>\n

The Deli Cafe<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Deli Cafe is the perfect stop for a quick breakfast before hitting the pool or going out to explore the area. Offering breakfast sandwiches, pastries, smoothies, fresh juices, as well as a variety of coffee drinks, add this to your daily itinerary!  If you don’t stop for coffee, do stop for ice cream! Yes, they have that, too. Before heading to the airport, I stopped in and checked out the pastries.<\/p>\n

Lagoon Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This is another spot to order from the Infinity menu. So many great choices. And what a view!<\/p>\n

Tide Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you’re in the mood for tacos (I’m always in the mood for tacos!) the Tide Bar is the spot. With eight different taco creations, you might find it difficult to make a decision. Go with the Mixed Tacos! You can also get ice cream at the Tide Bar, as well as order from the Infinity Menu.<\/p>\n

Sunset Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Sunset Bar has an extensive sushi menu, but you can also order ceviche, tacos, and other local specialties. So many options!<\/p>\n

Bacari<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Bacari means Tribal Chief or King in Guaycura, the language of a group of native people from Baja. This restaurant is open on Tuesday for Asian night and Thursday for Mexican night. Dining at Bacari is not just a meal, but an experience!<\/p>\n

Grand Solmar Lands End<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you want to be closer to downtown Cabo, Grand Solmar at Lands End<\/a> is the perfect resort. This stunning property has eight different places to eat and drink, from fancy restaurants to pool bars.<\/p>\n

La Roca<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Serving breakfast and dinner, La Roca has an extensive menu and a lot of healthy options. Begin your day with a Detox Beauty Smoothie or a glass of freshly squeezed juice. For those with a sweet tooth, try the chocolate chip pancakes. I’d have to go for one of the Signature Dishes with Flavors of Mexico<\/em>, like the Eggs Motule\u00f1os Style \u2014 <\/em>fried eggs on a crispy corn tortilla, ham, plantain, mozzarella cheese, covered with a traditional martajada sauce, green beans, and achiote. Sounds delicious!<\/p>\n

The dinner menu offers appetizer choices like Grilled Short Rib Tacos or Braised Short Rib, both cooked for 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Try the fresh catch of the day, prepared in their Josper charcoal oven \u2014 an upscale combination of an oven and a charcoal grill. Order from a long list of entrees, too, with choices like Pork Belly, Jumbo Shrimp, or Half Rack of Lamb Chop.<\/p>\n

Asian Lounge<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Sushi lovers will be thrilled with the menu at Asian Lounge. You’ll find all your favorites as well as poke bowls and salads, fried rice dishes, a huge selection of negiris, makis, tempura, and temakis. Also, ask about the chef specials.<\/p>\n

Don Luis<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The views are spectacular at Don Luis, and the menu will keep you coming back again and again. Offering Grilled Surf and Turf Night, Gaucho Night, Tex Mex Night, Italian Night, and a Baja Style Menu, you’ll want to extend your stay to be able to experience each menu! Each specialty night includes amazing appetizer choices and desserts to satisfy any sweet tooth.<\/p>\n

Sports Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You don’t have to miss your favorite team playing while you’re on vacation. Head to the Sports Bar for games on the HDTV while dining on American comfort food paired with your favorite cocktail or a cold beer.<\/p>\n

Brisas Snack Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In the mood for sushi, wraps, salads, or a smoothie? La Brisas has it all at their healthy snack and sushi bar. Open for lunch and dinner, and again, those views! You won’t be disappointed with anything on the menu.<\/p>\n

Both Grand Solmar properties have a Deli Cafe offering breakfast treats and snacks. Stop in for your daily cappuccino or smoothie.<\/p>\n

Sunrise and Sunset Pools<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Both pools have a cocktail and light fare menu.<\/p>\n

Las Olas Pool<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Las Olas Pool is the place to go when you want to relax poolside with choices of Mexican or International dishes.<\/p>\n

Solmar Resort <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Solmar<\/a> is the more economical resort. Though it does have fewer amenities, it has its own charm.<\/p>\n

Tejaban<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Tejaban serves up American favorites like banana pancakes and waffles (try the adult version with fruit and Baileys or Kahlua sauce.) For those who want to eat Mexican food when in Mexico, you’ll have so many choices your head will spin. From Huevos Rancheros to five different varieties of breakfast burritos, you may want to skip lunch after a breakfast like this.<\/p>\n

The lunch menu offers salads and soups, sandwiches and burgers, and several Mexican specialties like Tempura Fish Tacos and Chicken Breast Poblano Style. If you’re in the mood for pizza, Tejaban has eight specialty varieties to choose from, including a vegetarian option. When hunger strikes later in the day, start with the Beet or Tropical Salad and an entree of Blackened Fish with Mexican Spices or BBQ Ribs with all the traditional sides. The Tortilla Soup is the Mexican version of comfort food. So good.<\/p>\n

El Trebol Snack Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you’re in the mood for appetizers, this is the place. El Trebol Snack Bar has a long list to choose from including Coconut Shrimp with Mango Sauce and Seafood Ceviche. This is also where you should head if you’re in the mood for a burger or one of their Mexican small plates like quesadillas or nachos.<\/p>\n

Sushi Factory<\/strong><\/h4>\n

For those who love seafood, Cabo is a foodie’s paradise. The Sushi Factory has twenty choices, including sushi, sashimi, and yakimeshi.<\/p>\n

Grand Solmar Resorts In Villa Dining<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With so many different places to eat, you won’t have a problem pleasing everyone at Solmar Resorts. Still, there may be times when you want to really chill \u2014 like in your luxurious bathrobe in your room after a bubble bath! I get it! Or maybe you’re traveling with little ones and just want to chill with your significant other while the kiddos sleep. Just pick up the phone and order In-Room Dining. Check the menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, and even beer and pizza specials.<\/p>\n

Other Foodie Experiences at Grand Solmar Resorts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In addition to the restaurants at these three Solmar Resorts, guests have other options for trying Mexican fare. Reserve your spot at one of the popular cooking classes or tequila tastings.<\/p>\n

Cooking Class <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Try your hand at making a couple of the traditional dishes of Mexico or a simple salsa making class. These classes are by reservation only. Check with the concierge regarding availability and fees.<\/p>\n

For an extra special occasion, book a signature spa treatment with food pairings crafted by resident Chef H\u00e9ctor Lucas. It’s an amazing experience! The Mini Crab Burger was one of the best soft shell crabs I’ve ever tasted.<\/p>\n

The Sushi Roll with Holy Leaf and Lobster with Chipotle was delicious, too. You’ll have choices for each course and it’s hard to choose, but ending with the Red Fruit Jelly Panacota is a really good choice!<\/p>\n

Where would you eat first? It’s hard to choose! All three resorts give you the choice of the European plan (no meals) or all inclusive where your meals are included. If you’re traveling with kids, you may decide it would be nice to have an adult dinner. At either of the Grand Resorts, a Kids Club is available. They will even send your child a personalized invitation! Your kids will be begging you to let them go!<\/p>\n

Staying at Solmar Resorts<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I spent most of my time at Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas<\/a>, but there are three resorts to choose from. Solmar Resort<\/a> is very traditional, with Mexican decor, a fun atmosphere, and prices that are more economical. The rooms are charming.<\/p>\n

The night I had dinner there, I saw families out at the pool long after dinner, enjoying the beautiful ocean breeze. I was told guests come back year after year and meet up with families they had met there the year before.<\/p>\n

Grand Solmar at Land’s End<\/a> is just next door to Solmar, and both are closer to downtown for easy access if you want to explore. Grand Solmar Lands End is very much an upscale resort and stunning property. The rooms are luxurious and similar to Grand Solmar at Ranchos San Lucas, with suites to suit just about anyone’s needs.<\/p>\n

My room at Grand Solmar at Ranchos San Lucas<\/a> was incredible! Though I wasn’t traveling with my husband and daughters this time, this Master Suite would be perfect for my family.<\/p>\n

We have two daughters who are in college, so we typically get another room for them when we travel. This means that when we get back to our room in the evening, they would go to their room and we would not see them until the next day. With this room, we have our space as there is a completely separate bedroom for my husband and me, but there’s a living room where we can hang out and watch a movie after dinner.
