Barcelona and Venice definitely don\u2019t need more visitors in the summer! But then there are places like Southern Greenland, where my son and I hiked and explored for a week and barely saw any other tourists. Instead, we unplugged, went fishing, kayaked among icebergs, slept on sheep farms, rode Icelandic ponies between the sheep farms, visited glaciers, and had a slow but active week in a beautiful, peaceful location. It\u2019s not easy to get to \u2013 virtually all flights go through Copenhagen or Reykjavik \u2014 but it\u2019s well worth the trek to have the world\u2019s largest island to yourself. At least it felt like we did!<\/p>\n

Key West, Florida<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ava Stritt of SpaTravelGal.com<\/a>:<\/strong> Key West has recovered with style and grace after Hurricane Irma and a recent visit showed me how alive this tropical paradise remains. Most hotels and restaurants are back in business and their comebacks have them better than before. One of the newest hotels in the region is The Perry Hotel<\/a>. I now imagine this place my new Key West<\/a> abode. From this hotel you have access to all that Key West<\/a> is known for including aquamarine waters that lead to the treasures of the region. Take the shuttle downtown for the nightlife or start your adventures from their marina. Take advantage of the What\u2019s Kraken fishing charters and the When and If sunset cruises just steps from the door of your room. The When & If sailing yacht was custom-designed for General George S. Patton as a gift for his wife. This gorgeous 1939 wooden schooner is one of the most magical experiences you can strive to complete in 2019! Then head to the Top Spa for one of their seasonal experiences \u2013 you know you need a spa day while on vacation!<\/p>\n

San Juan, Puerto Rico<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kirsten Maxwell, Kids Are A Trip<\/a><\/strong>: One destination I would recommend for 2019 is San Juan, Puerto Rico<\/a>. It\u2019s been just over a year since Hurricane Maria devastated the island, and it\u2019s time to head back. Almost all major properties have re-opened, and the city\u2019s culinary scene is exploding. Throw in speakeasies, kayaking in the bioluminescent bay, hiking in caves, and spending time on the beach, and you have the perfect tropical getaway. <\/span><\/p>\n

Whitsundays, <\/strong>Australia <\/b><\/h3>\n

Meagan Wristen from MommyTravels.net<\/a>:<\/strong> If you can afford it, go to Australia<\/a>, specifically Whitsundays<\/a>. It’s a quick plane ride from Sydney and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef<\/a>.  In Whitsundays you can quickly check off some of the items on your bucket list like visiting Whitehaven Beach and snorkeling or diving the Great Barrier Reef. Make sure to book a tour that gives you adequate time at Whitehaven beach. I recommend at least half a day, but all day would be better. After visiting over 20 countries, this is definitely the most beautiful place I have ever seen. While you’re there, you should also take a tour out to the Great Barrier Reef, with a reputable tour company. This will take all day, but the trip is well worth it. I recommend staying at Big 4 Adventure Resort<\/a> if you are traveling with kids.<\/p>\n

My oldest chiclet has been asking to go to Japan ever since his interest in anime popped up this year. So I’m hoping to take him to Nagoya because I’ve read that not only is it the most budget-friendly city to fly into in Japan, but they also have a very cool Sky-Boat Ferris wheel and castle that I think my chiclet will like.<\/p>\n

Regardless of whether you head to South Africa, Botswana, Kenya or Tanzania, prepare to be wowed. Seeing lions, zebras, elephants, giraffe, hippos and even rhinos in the wild is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Not only will you walk away with a newfound respect for all of these majestic creatures, but you’ll walk away with a new understanding of the circle of life. As my safari driver said, “out here, it’s easy to be born and it’s easy to die.” Safari in Africa in a life-changing experience<\/a> and one you certainly shouldn’t miss!<\/p>\n
