1. The Castles are Royally Epic<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Throughout history, the Danish Royal Family has had spectacular taste. From ogling the crown jewels at Rosenborg Castle to the rose gardens of Marselisborg, castles in Denmark are stunning! In particular, we recommend day tripping to Kronborg Castle (made famous by Shakespeare’s Hamlet), watching the royal guard change at Amalienborg in central Copenhagen and exploring Frederiksborg Palace, situated on 3 picturesque islands and home to the Museum of Natural History.<\/p>\n

2. Nordic Cuisine is Clean, Simple & Delicious<\/strong><\/h2>\n

From open faced sandwiches to sweet Danish snail buns, Denmark has a unique food scene unlike anywhere else. Simple meals like porridge, pork and pastries are elevated in Denmark to near gastronomic heights. Danes love their beer too \u2013 take a tour of Carlsberg brewery or try a beer from a local Danish micro brewery while you’re in town! If you want to splurge on a fine dining experience, Noma 2.0 recently reopened in February 2018.<\/p>\n

3. Hippies Have Their Own Island<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Christiania is a small island in central Copenhagen, home to a real life hippie commune. Both green and car-free, this society lives independently of the Danish government and inhabitants abide by their own way of life. Visitors can go for a stroll through Freetown’s art galleries, music venues and workshops \u2013 just don’t take any photos!<\/p>\n

4. It\u2019s Possible to Visit on a Budget<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Copenhagen is expensive, but travelers on a budget<\/a> can still have a great time in the Danish capital!
