Below you\u2019ll find ten destinations from around the world, perfect for visiting when you\u2019re interested in a combination of adventure, culture, and R&R. (And maybe some wine \u2026 lots of wine.)<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>1. Sorrento, Italy<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Sorrento,\n

Oh, Sorrento<\/a>! It\u2019s hard to even know where to start when describing what it\u2019s like there. Ridiculously amazing scenery, lemon and orange trees in abundance, wonderful ruins and museums, beautiful hiking trails, and phenomenal food are probably the best places to start. There\u2019s so much to do it could easily be overwhelming \u2014 if the area didn\u2019t inspire such a strong feeling of invigorating tranquility. You\u2019ll definitely want to fill your days with drives along the Amalfi coast, visits to ancient places like Pompeii, and limoncello tasting tours. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of chances to relax and wander, too, as this is just as big a part of the complete Sorrento experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>2. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Antelope\n

There are a ton of different ways to do it, but a responsible\/sustainable adventure to Serengeti National Park<\/a> is something everyone should consider doing at least once in their life. Experiences like extraordinary safaris, awe-inspiring stargazing, spending time in the local villages, and catching an unforgettable glimpse of the Great Wildebeest Migration all come together to create the trip of a lifetime. As for where to stay, there are plenty of options to choose from, whether you\u2019re looking to go for budget-friendly or luxurious. Start by looking for places that are locally owned, contribute to local communities, limit their environmental impact, and have a hand in the conservation of the area\u2019s flora and fauna.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>3. Hakone, Japan<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n\"Hakone,\n

It\u2019s no surprise that Hakone<\/a> is known for its natural beauty, being located in the gorgeous Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Between, their famous hot springs, views of Mount Fuji across Lake Ashi (Ashinoko), and lush gardens there are plenty of opportunities to take it all in. And if nature\u2019s not really your scene or you\u2019re looking mix things up, not a problem. The castles, shrines, and art museums are all easily marvelous enough to warrant a trip of their own.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>4. Napa Valley, California<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Hot\n

Napa Valley<\/a> is a spectacular choice if it\u2019s the relaxed and romantic feel that you\u2019re after. The area boasts a magnificent amount of bed & breakfasts with charming features like giant fireside soaker tubs and vineyard locations. So, the vibe of your vacation can be perfectly set from the moment you get there. After choosing where you\u2019re going to stay, the biggest thing you have to figure out is how you want to try your wine. Would you like to enjoy it via train, accompanied with gourmet food? Or perhaps in a private car after a dawn hot air balloon ride and some brunch? Of course, should you ever need a break from the vino situation, some great hiking through the redwoods is just a short trek away.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>5. Ilulissat, Greenland<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Ilulissat,\n

If you\u2019re looking for a quiet getaway, there are few places that rival what you\u2019ll find \u2014 or won\u2019t find \u2014 in Greenland<\/a>. With a population of about 4,500 inhabitants, Ilulissat is the third largest town on the island country. Point being, you can count on feeling nice and secluded. During the day, spend your time out on the water marveling at the various whales and enormous glaciers, or taking in the majestic landscapes via dogsled or snowmobile. And after sunset, plan to be mesmerized by the northern lights (depending on when you go) and fantastic view of the stars. For those that want to take things to the next level, there are several multi-day tours offered that focus on everything from hiking to photography. For others, the world\u2019s most northern 4-star hotel happens to be located in Ilulissat, so thorough relaxing is definitely also an option.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>6. Jaipur, India<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Jaipur,\n

While the capital of the Rajasthan<\/a> can easily be as staggering as Sorrento with so much to take in, it\u2019s appreciation and wonderment that\u2019ll keep your feet moving here. The vast amount of unbelievable architecture alone \u2014 like the famous Hawa Mahal, Rambagh Palace, and and Amber fort \u2014 could easily fill your entire dance card. We have to mention, though, there are other itinerary musts to be found here. The incredible food, markets, and historic UNESCO World Heritage site Jantar Mantar (an observatory built in 1718, boasting the largest sundial in the world) are also not to be missed. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>7. The Islands of Tahiti<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Islands\n

<\/b>No, this list wouldn\u2019t be complete without the mention of a tropical beach destination. Staying in an over-water bungalow, snorkeling, skydiving, hiking, paragliding, canoeing, and exploring via horseback are only a small sample of the extraordinary experiences<\/a> you can find on these wonderful islands of Tahiti<\/a>. But, that\u2019s far from all there is. Tahiti has a rich and intriguing history that goes back over 3,000 years, and mixing it into your stay as much as possible is absolutely going to make it that much more fulfilling. If you\u2019re unsure of where to start, a tour of the Mus\u00e9e de Tahiti et des \u00celes should get you off on the right foot.<\/span><\/p>\n

8. Adelaide, Australia<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Adelaide,\n

Wonderful walking, wines, and wildlife are what you\u2019ll get out of a journey to Adelaide<\/a>. (Okay, so the walking is mostly hiking, but you see what I was doing there.) Amazing alliteration aside (okay, I\u2019m done, I promise), there\u2019s something to do here for nearly every kind of person. There are wonderful places like the South Australian and Migration Museums for history buffs; Adelaide Botanic and Veale Gardens for those that like plants and nature, but maybe not hiking; Brownhill Creek and Black Hill Conservation Parks for those that do; and Barossa Valley nearby for wine enthusiasts. Don\u2019t worry, I haven\u2019t forgotten animal lovers. Anyone looking to get in some quality time with the local fauna should check out nearby Cleland Wildlife Park or Kangaroo Island. There are several opportunities for two-day tours at the latter, so if nature happens to be the motivation of your visit, it\u2019s definitely the way to go. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>9. German Towns Along the Rhine\/Main<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Cologne,\n

Admittedly this is a bit general, but narrowing the choices down to one is nearly impossible. What\u2019s so amazing about these German<\/a> towns is how simultaneously similar and distinct each one is. While some are more baroque and others are more medieval, each place completely exudes the vibe of a romantic storybook town. And, though relatively close together (by modern transportation, anyway) each has their own delicacies. With Bamburg it\u2019s smokey Rauchbier, W\u00fcrzburg it\u2019s Franconian wine, and at nearly every stop you\u2019ll probably hear mention of a sausage rival. But, whether you\u2019re trying the regional dish, or popping into a bakery to savor some coffee, it\u2019s going to be amazing. Of course, there\u2019s more than food to enjoy. Castles and cathedrals can be seen almost everywhere you turn. And if you somehow manage to turn somewhere there isn\u2019t, it\u2019s probably still going to be adorable. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>10. Buenos Aires, Argentina<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\"Buenos\n

<\/b>Buenos Aires<\/a> has a fantastic variety of experiences to offer those with a healthy wanderlust, no matter what their interests are. The city is known for so many things it\u2019s hard to mention them all. Wonderful caf\u00e9s, street art, beautiful hotels and a plethora of theaters aren\u2019t even the tip of the iceberg. Some good advice would be to tailor your trip to your interests (obviously), but also take the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone. Sports fans can start with learning to play polo or watching a f\u00fatbol game; lovers of the performing arts can attend concerts and take a tango lesson; there are amazing designers here for the high-end shopper; and delectable food and wine for the gastronomes. Whatever you choose to do in Buenos Aires, be sure to take your time and really appreciate the vibe of the city, as it really is a one-of-a-kind place.<\/span><\/p>\n
