Exploring is fun, but sometimes the best vacations are those spent relaxing at an all-inclusive resort. Who doesn\u2019t love kicking back under a palm tree and being served tropical drinks poolside? No one I know, that\u2019s for sure. So, of course, I\u2019m very excited to be spending next week in one of the best destinations in the world for R&R \u2014 the Dominican Republic\u2019s Punta Cana! This place is known for epic sunsets, fine white sand and deliciously warm waters that welcome beachgoers year-round. And with a variety of Blue Diamond Resorts<\/a> to set the stage for my trip, you know it\u2019s going to be incredible.<\/p>\n

Having done a little pre-trip research, I\u2019ve got the following on my itinerary. But you know I\u2019m always up for a little spontaneity, so follow along with me on Twitter<\/a> and Instagram<\/a> April 17-20 to see what I\u2019m up to daily! Better yet? April 17<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I\u2019ll be checking in first to the CHIC Punta Cana<\/a>, featuring adults only all-inclusive luxury. What could be more indulgent? Keeping in this mindset, I\u2019ll start my stay by slowly sipping my welcome drink with a hot towel around my neck, strolling my way to the glass-walled Mermaid Pool for a leisurely dip. It\u2019s elevated, so guests who choose to lounge poolside have the chance for awesome photo ops, and it\u2019s my time to live out my dream as a merman. Even if only for a moment.<\/p>\n

Next I\u2019ll head to the private cabana I\u2019ve booked for a little siesta \u2026 because being the center of attention can be quite tiring. And I\u2019ve already booked a massage treatment at The Royal Spa, so don\u2019t expect to hear from me for a bit unless you too are savoring a moment of bliss in their hydrotherapy pool. Ahhh, I can\u2019t wait. Sounds like I’ll be working up quite an appetite! Lucky for me, CHIC has a Chef\u2019s Table designed to cater to even the most discerning tastebuds, all in an open-concept kitchen that\u2019s as exciting for the eyes as it is for the palate. I\u2019m getting hungry just imagining it. You\u2019d better believe I\u2019ll save room under this belt for dessert!<\/p>\n

April 18 <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Today I\u2019ll wake in my Diamond Club\u2122 room refreshed and ready to take on the day \u2014 how could I not with world-class amenities like butler service and a pillow menu at my beckon call? After enjoying a bite from my upgraded room service menu, I think I\u2019ll marvel at the sunrise while enjoying the pristine beach CHIC Punta Cana calls its backyard. With drink in hand, obviously.<\/p>\n

Once I\u2019m in complete zen mode, it will be time to experience a new Blue Diamond Resort \u2014 and it\u2019s Royalton Punta Cana Resort & Casino<\/a> that\u2019s on my must-visit list. This all-inclusive beach resort offers All-In Luxury\u2122, and I like the sound of that! Since I\u2019ve already spoiled myself silly in the Diamond Club\u2122 at CHIC, I figured I might as well do the same at Royalton, right? And speaking of zen moments, I\u2019ve heard the Teppanyaki experience at the resort\u2019s Zen Restaurant is second to none. Finally, I think I\u2019ll kick it up a notch at the casino. Still working on my poker face \u2026<\/p>\n

April 19<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ever wished you could just walk right off your patio into the pool? At Royalton Punta Cana, you can! It\u2019s just one of the reasons I\u2019m so excited to stay here. It\u2019s such a fun concept, and perfect for those mornings when walking more than a few steps seems daunting. (Guilty!) After a relaxing swim, I plan to head over to Grazie Restaurant for a delicious lunch buffet of Italian comfort food with a killer ocean view.<\/p>\n

By now it will be about time that I go take advantage of that ocean, don\u2019t you think? The resort offers paddleboarding, and wouldn\u2019t you know, it\u2019s one of my favorite aquatic pastimes. I\u2019ll probably welcome the exercise after my buffet, anyway! To conclude my evening, and stay at the Royalton, I\u2019ll settle in for a night of entertainment on the plaza. That\u2019s the beauty of an all-inclusive stay, my room is always just a few steps away from the fun!<\/p>\n

April 20 <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Last day in Punta Cana, and one more chance to spend some time at a Blue Diamond Resort! This morning is all about Memories Splash Punta Cana<\/a>, and mimosas for me. But this resort offers something for guests of all ages! I\u2019ll probably spend some time at the Diamond Club\u2122 pool before joining the ranks of people my own size at the Kids Club. To answer your question, yes I do reach the height requirements for their waterslides! This resort is known for its waterpark, and if I\u2019m feeling brave you\u2019ll catch me riding the big one. With my eyes closed tightly.<\/p>\n

All this excitement is a lot for an old Gnome like myself to take, so for the remainder of the afternoon you’ll probably catch me at the main pool. I\u2019ll be sunbathing, sipping a signature cocktail and preparing for my another grand adventure. Where to next?<\/p>\n\n\n\t
