A colorful fountain rising from a lake, an amphitheater and a fleet of swan-shaped boats make this park in the heart of Orlando a memorable place to visit.
Go on a lakeside walk, take a relaxing ride on a paddle boat, feed the swans or simply enjoy the splendid scenery of Lake Eola Park. The gorgeous green space in downtown Orlando encompasses a lake, fountain and a performance venue.
Stroll or jog along the 0.9-mile (1.4-kilometer) sidewalk that circles the lake, then rent one of the swan-shaped peddle boats for a ride across the water. Each one holds up to five people. The focal point of the lake is the Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain, which is recognized as an official icon of the City of Orlando. Come by at night to see the fountain show, a dramatic spectacle of light, music and water. The show runs for about 6 minutes and the themes change with the seasons.
Other popular activities in the park include feeding the swans and other local birdlife and watching a concert or play. The Walt Disney Amphitheater is located on the banks of the lake and features a variety of cultural events.
On Sundays, bring your shopping bags with you for the weekly Farmers Market in the park’s southeast corner. Browse the stalls for seasonal fresh produce, artwork, handicrafts, baked goods, plants and flowers. The park also hosts festivals throughout the year, including the Fall Festival and the July 4th Fireworks at the Fountain.
While you are in the park, feast on a picnic surrounded by colorful flowerbeds, while admiring the soaring Orlando skyline. Alternatively, stop for a bite to eat at the lakeside restaurant.
Lake Eola Park is situated in downtown Orlando and is served by local buses. There is also plenty of metered street parking located nearby, which is free on Sundays. This popular recreational space is open daily, from early morning until midnight. When you exit the park, take advantage of the plethora of dining options that are just a short walk away in the stylish Thornton Park neighborhood.
