Great place for a quiet week

Pros: Greatt place to relax
Cons: Entertainment could be better, later times for live music at the lobby bar
Location: on the main hotel strip in San Jose del Cabo. Not a lot nearby but 30 minute rie in the Cabo san Lucas with lots of entertainment
The Barcelo Gran Faro is medium sized all-inclusive resort with a great location. The food is good, lots of choices with specialty restaurants (4). The staff were very good. Breakfast on the deck overlooking the water was great.

Many great memories made

My sister and I along with our daughters just got back home from 6 days at Barceló Gran Faro. I have to say our visit was wonderful. The staff are very kind and always have a smile of their face. The food and drinks were delicious and there was always something you could find to eat. Our waiter Juan at dinner each night was the best. The shows were a lot more than we were expecting and very entertaining. Our room was clean and comfortable and The Premium Lounge was a great way to escape the heat and just relax for awhile. This hotel IS NOT is Cabo San Lucas. It is in San Jose del Cabo which is a 30 minute drive to Cabo. We had known this and traveling with two younger (9 and 10) girls wanted the quieter atmosphere. There was a few couples on one of our tours that wanted to be in the middle of the party and night life. This hotel isn't.

Great location

Enjoyed the resort, food was good. Lots of families. They need to do something about the chairs at the pool. People put their towels down super early then nothing available. I got a premium room and it would have been a plus to have chair by the pool.

Dishonest Staff

Hotel was great, advice dont forget valuables objects when you go out to eat to the restaurants because employees our dishonest and they'll keep what ever you forget. They'll tell you they didn't see anything. Will never come back to this hotel...

Worst Barcelo Hotel

Pros: Location and most of the staff
Cons: A lot. We complaint to all the people involved at the hotel from the Buffet manager to the hotel manager.
Location: 25 minutes to Cabo San Lucas. 1 hour to Todos Santos, a very nice town where Hotel California is located. 1 hour to Barriles a very nice beach area.
I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. 1) The A/C in room 2126 did not work properly for 2 days. 2) We had to follow the cleaning lady to get all the toiletries and food that was supposed to be in the room daily. 3) The food at the Olas buffet restaurant was surrounded by flies and birds. 4) The front desk staff was unable or give wrong information when we asked for directions to go visit tows around the city. 5) The capt. at the Jicamas Restaurant was extremely rude with my brother because he was wearing shorts at dinner but said nothing about the warm white wine served on a broken glass. Our server was trying to apologized for his behavior and was dismissed from the restaurant.

Nice and quiet hotel

Great hotel if you don't mind being about a half hour from downtown. Our room was nice, the pools were clean, and the service was excellent. I'm a vegetarian and my husband isn't and we both enjoyed the food. My only complaint was that the wifi didn't extend to the pool area.

Cons: You need to put more music in the pool area and do a lot more entertainment because sometimes it feels a little boring
Nice Hotel close to the Beach, the only problem is, you can not swim on the beach, the waves are very dangerous.

Absolutely loved our stay

We enjoyed the food and the entertainment. Choices on the buffet were awesome and the restaurants were amazing. Staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will stay at another Barcelo resort in another location. Family friendly.
