Old Hotel with charm

Pros: Old charm, great WIFI.
Cons: Willing to sacrifice microwave and refrigerator for more space.
Location: I did not know Jamestown was home to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park, home to No.3 Steam Locomotive and site of filming of Petticoat Junction.
An old hotel updated to include many expected conveniences. Facility is an old classic structure, so don't expect a lot of space in the individual rooms. Plenty of public space to gather or sit around. WIFI worked great. Jamestown is a neat little town you can feel comfortable to stroll around. Reasonably convenient to Yosemite although still a bit of a drive.

Great for a family traveling in the area.

Pros: It was close to our event on Saturday night so we could walk.
Cons: When you flush the toilet, the shower water stops for about 10 minutes.
Location: Jamestown is a small, western town located 3 miles south of Sonora,CA and about 45 miles to Yosemite Park. There are antique stores and gold panning.
Prepare for rustic, but that is the charm of Jamestown. The bed is good and has a sleeper couch and kitchen. The staff forgot to turn our hot water heater up for our arrival, but we had hot water the next day. The major disappointment was that we left for the day and came back to a blocked off parking lot for repairs and had to park in the street about a block away overnight. This should have been noted on check-in, or better yet, done when the cottages were vacant.

worst hotel I've ever stayed at!

Pros: not a thing. view from patio is of 30 or more bags of trash.
Cons: everything. it is not hospitable for humans.
Location: 2 hours from Yosemite.
firstly do not stay here at all cost. photos do not match what you will receive. Rooms are so small they need to be called a closet. bed is not a queen and there is only about a foot of walking space around the bed in the whole room. It is laterally four walls and a roof with a bed that is all. bathroom does not have a tub and shower isn't big enough to spread arms. cramped to say the least. toilet paper holder was detached from the wall and sitting on the floor with nails exposed. sink was in the bedroom area because bathroom is far to small for the sink. you are provided two small towels that are not the standard bath towel size. sheets are yellow from age and very gross. no AC in the room and it was extremely hot! My biggest issue was that the room was connected to a patio that lead to the parking area. the door to the patio did not lock! you can actually just pull it open. so needles to say i didn't feel safe nor did a feel i could leave any valuables in the room while i was gone. hotel owners live on bottom floor and you can hear them arguing all night. The exterior of the hotel is in shambles and littered with trash and discarded items. old broken doors leaning on the side of the building, two by fours in piles, concrete mixer, three containers of gasoline left unattended, broken washer/dyer and mattresses. unexceptionable condition. we tried to cancel and hotel owner said that they would not return any money. we left anyways and drove 6 h home instead of staying

Not 2.5 stars

Pros: Bed was comfortable, cute antique dresser.
Cons: General cleanliness, breakfast.
Location: Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys was amazing. Mike's Pizza in Angels Camp always good.
Located in run down part of tow, transients all over, parking inadequate, breakfast was a joke. Room itself had a little old fasioned charm. Needs cleaned and refurbished. Will never stay here again.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
My wife and I brought our 7 and 10 year old girls here for a new Thanksgiving Tradition. We had a great time, great manager here....Carly really took care of us. Great shops and restaurants. We had such a good time, we we stayed an extra night! 4 nights total! I cant believe some of the one star ratings here....obviously, you cannot please everyone!!

Don't waste your money.

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: Noisy, Poor breakfast
We had booked what the hotel called a cottage. It was horrible. First impression wasn't that bad but then we started looking around. It wasn't really a cottage. It was a separate building but it was a row of rooms not a separate cottage. There were no curtains on the windows just mini blinds on the main ones and they did not fit inside the windows. So there was no privacy except in the bathroom. And we couldn't sleep with all the light in the room. The king size bed had a full size comforter on it and the bed was so hard that you could not sleep on it.

Dirty Room and Horrible Service

Cons: Noisy, Poor breakfast
We arrived at 2:00 PM and wanted to see if we could check in. They refused to check us in even though all the rooms were ready and there was not any maids still working. When we checked in the floors in the room had debris all over them like the floor had not been cleaned in months. Dust all over the furniture. We would NEVER stay there again.

It's pretty basic

We thought the staff and service was fine but the room was very minimal and not in great shape. The price wasn't outrageous so it didn't feel like we like we didn't get a good deal. It's comfortable for what it was just don't expect anything fancy.

best stay

“Great boutique hotel in good location. My room was quiet, faced away from street. Very small room but clean and had everything I needed. Nice linens, roomy bath. Mostly European clientele. Good value for the money. Nice staff. Would definitely stay again if rate stays reasonable

A wonderful place to stay

I stayed three days in February with my girl friend in a queen cottage. We didn’t check in until 10pm, the owner was great and waited up for us to arrive. The room was very clean and had a nice size bed, full kitchen and a full bathroom. The hotel had plenty of parking and was very safe. The hotel is in the center of town and all the places to eat are within walking distance. The hotel was a great deal and I will stay again.
