A miss on small things, especially when spending $400 a night. Two mornings in a row the coffee provided on second floor was only warm. This historic hotel has several common area fireplaces, but little or no effort to have a fire burning. If there was a fire, it was a small burning ember. Roaring fireplaces would have been a nice touch since it is winter and the hotel’s central heat was not working. I still recommend staying here due to very close proximity to canyon. Also, the El Tovar main dining has a very good menu and excellent staff.

There Are Other Options
Hotel was nice but the heat was out in the guest rooms when arrived. They ended up putting us up in the building next door which had no facilities, just guest rooms. Probably would have stayed but it got down in the 20’s that night. Dining was also quite expensive.
