River view was excellent!

Pros: Modern feel in a classic building, location, staff and wonderful shower!
Cons: Couldn't figure out how to turn on lamps, and the overhead lights were strong. No drapes or shades to pull to block the light from the city.
Location: Inverness Castle just opened a viewing platform in the North Tower which provided stunning views of the city. Great shops, live music in several pubs
Hotel is a more modern offering in a classic building. Their free parking is convenient and plentiful. Rooms are recently updated, and our view of the River Ness was lovely. Just a short walk to Inverness Castle, shops and restaurants. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel - it is chef-driven and rather spendy. My dish was excellent! The only drawback to our stay is we were on the second floor and it was a hike up the circular staircase. Tall ceilings, so extra steps! The staff is very friendly and they offer to take your bags up - so it was my pride that got in the way on that one.

Nice hotel in great area!

Pros: Quality, price, location, parking, wifi. M&S grocery store has nice food that's reasonable. It's a much better alternative to the pricey breakfasts.
Location: Eat at the Filling Station. Culloden (10 min drive), Clava Cairn (5 mins from Culloden). Loch Ness & Urqhart (30-40 min drive).
This hotel was such a deal for the price! It's actually a very nice hotel and room in a wonderful part of the city. You can walk to the local shops, grocery store and restaurants in under 10 minutes. It's along the river on a one ways street so it's not busy or noisy. The room wasn't large but nice. Parking is free. Free wifi.

Nice compared to the limited options

Pros: Food, location, wifi, bathroom.
Cons: Noisy. Rooms could be updated (modernized).
Location: Hiking, driving. 20 minutes from Ben Nevis, 40 mins from Fort William. 1 hour to Glenfinnan Viaduct.
This hotel is one of the nicer ones in the area. They have an attached restaurant that has great food! Note, it's not fancy but good. The hotel rooms a scarce but the bathrooms are nice. Our room was right next to the road and was very noisy. It was a beautiful drive through the Highlands from Glasgow and a beautiful setting. Lots of hikers staying at the hotel. Easy parking, free. Free wifi also.
