The bathroom was gross. Stains were behind toilet and on toilet back. Shower had mold spots. You pay alot of money to stay there so you expect a clean bathroom. Its a shame because its a nice hotel close to alot of the attractions. Bathrooms are important to keep clean.

Was a little disappointed by all the changes to the hotel and loss of history. The new Asian infusion restaurant, while potentially more hip, was very loud and seemed out of place. I asked for wake up calls that were never placed. The rooms appeared to be remodeled but not the bathrooms which was weird. I have loved staying at the property over the last five years and the grounds are gorgeous but this trip left a lot to be desired...

When we arrived in our room, we noticed that the window shade was broken and would not close. We needed this to work for privacy. The service man came right away to fix it so that was great. But the building was a disappointment. We stayed in the Rockwell section on the first floor. Every footstep from the folks above us was heard - LOUDLY through the ceiling. There was no mattress cover on the beds and the pillows were completely flat! I had a terrible night’s sleep.

    Beautiful, but Disappointing

The hotel is beautiful and overall my stay was fine. Unfortunately, there were many aspects that did not meet my expectations. 1) I could hear the restaurant from my room (which was on the top floor of the King Mansion) and it disrupted what I had planned to be a relaxing stay. When I asked for a different room, the guest services rep first asked if I had used anything in the room and then told me there were no other available rooms. When I spoke to someone in person, they gave me a voucher for free breakfast and an hour later checkout. 2) The room did not seem fully cleaned. There was a water ring from a glass on the bedside table and there were hairs in the sink. The toilet did not smell well. I also killed a bug that I noticed on the ceiling. 3) It’s not easy to find many things at the hotel. I had to walk through the restaurant to get to my room. There was no elevator to get to my room. The other restaurant, Cellar 49, was not easy to find. And on a Friday night, it was almost empty. The food was good, but it was an interesting experience. 4) When I checked out, no one asked me how my stay was. I would probably give the hotel another chance, but I would not stay in the King Mansion section. I don’t think I’d pay the same amount if the service isn’t better.
