"Great location, great price"
I booked a room for a single night as a friend & I were attending a holiday party in the Capitol Hill area. Location was key for us. I found a great rate ($130/night) for a room with 2 queen beds, including breakfast. The hotel was very clean & we really enjoyed the historic photos from the university on the walls throughout. There was a small "business center" (2 computers & a printer) in the hotel lobby, as well as a snack center (where you could buy snacks, beer, wine & various university insignia souvenirs). We were told upon check-in that breakfast would be served the next day in the bistro area, however, when we were leaving at 8:30am, we found a small tray of fruit, a small tray of mini muffins, & a small tray of pastries in the business center area. There was also a coffee machine & hot tea. & that was all that was provided for breakfast. My only other complaint is that the parking garage is a little bit of a walk from the hotel. The room itself was extremely comfortable & had modern decor. The staff was friendly & helpful upon check-in & check-out. I would definitely stay here again.

"Lovely hotel, suboptimal location"
This hotel is elegant, gracious, old-fashioned, and well-maintained. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Its location is not terribly convenient to downtown DC, however, and the immediate area is not great in terms of restaurants and attractions.

The hotel was great. I was not expecting to be hit with $40 in booking fees, which came as quite an unpleasant surprise.

"Great room"
A few minor issues were immediately addressed. The A/C was not turned on so when I adjusted the thermostat to AC it wouldn't engage the fan. The staff took care of as soon as I brought it to their attention. Same with towels...they provided minimal amount of towels, when I asked for additional, they were there immediately. The staff was extremely helpful when I had a bad experience with an Uber driver. I would definitely stay here again.

"Lovely B&B in DC - Very Convenient"
The Birdhouse B&B was a nice alternative to a high-priced downtown DC hotel. It was conveniently located for all the different meetings I had. Michele was kind enough to show me how to use Uber so my taxi expenses were low. I particularly appreciated the parking pass so that I could safely leave my car for the two days of my stay. Michele recommended a great near-by restaurant within walking distance for the first evening. The room was clean with all the amenities I needed. Very comfortable pillows and bed. I didn't have the full breakfast but the blueberry muffins were great. Nice added touches of flowers. Perfect for one person. MIght be a little tight for 2.

"Nice location"
Great location close to Metro station and many bars, restaurants and shopping. Rooms were nice, clean, quiet, staff was great. Might not be best for young kids (no pool or casual restaurant) but was great for me and my 17-year old. Would be great for buisness travel as well. Would have liked a formal concierge staff, but the front desk staff were helpful.

"Great hotel close to major conveniences"
This is one of our favorite hotels in DC. It is convenient to the Metro, close to Georgetown and not too far from DCA. The room sizes are more than adequate. We always travel with one or two older children, so adding an extra bed was no problem. The staff is very friendly and responsive. It also has a nice workout area with nicely updated equipment and good space...not crammed like so many city hotels.
