Terrible management

Pros: the room was nice
Cons: Have the management take courses on "Customer Service" as clearly they did not care bout their guests
Location: close to the Capitol and Union Station
Came to DC for the Presidential Inauguation and attended the Gala at this hotel so we decided to stay here. The food at the Gala, provided by the hotel, was terrible. The selection was minimal, the food was cold, the bartenders, hotel staff, were slow and incompetent and the banquet room was a dirty mess with uncleaned tables and dirty dishes all over the place. The room was hot and sweaty due to improper ventilation. The next day my wife and I decided to try the restaurant. What a mistake! First we were told to come back in an hour as they were full, eventhough there were plently of empty tables. And they would not even take our name for a reservation. When we came back, they told us again that we had to wait, but would not tell us how long the wait was, again eventhough there were plenty of empty tables. After complaining to the restaurant manager, who was very rude, my wife went to complain to the hotel management. The hotel manager was also extremely rude and condesending and offered no help at all. Finally after waiting another 10 minutes, we were seated. The food was ok at best. The resturant was clearly understaffed. We couldn't even get a cup of coffee in the mornings!!!

Disappointing experience based on other reviews prior to booking stay. Very poor overall vibe to hotel with limited amenities for a stay as advertised- No hotel bar available to catch sports during an evening when it was too cold to walk around to find a location for a simple drink/ game. Lobby was not welcoming compared to other hotel stays, valet was expensive & catered to other parking guests vs hotel guests that were paying to stay at hotel & park. Very disappointing experiencing. Questioning my next booking based on hotel.com reviews.

Renovations!

At our time of visit, the hotel was renovating the bar and restaurant...and the room service hours were very limited and only during the daytime. Over-all the hotel is ok

The water was shut off/broken one morning on a work trip. Staff were helpful getting me another room just to go shower in, but it was a little inconvenient (especially since I was trying to get ready for a meeting).

Comfortable, convenient hotel for business travel

Traveled to D.C for an overnight business trip. The hotel was a nice sanctuary after a day of traveling from the West Coast. It was very large, including the bathroom. I stayed on one of the lower floors so a little nosy in the morning as staff and deliveries came in to the hotel of nearby building around 5:00, but no other complaints. Very close to Union Station and Capitol Hill. Food was great in the restaurant- especially the crab cake sandwich. Staff super friendly. Would stay there again on my next trip.

Everything was great but my wife was sneezing for our entire stay. Just as we were leaving we discovered black mold in the closet. The staff was wonderful and very responsive when we brought it to their attention.
