This place looks nice on the surface, but a closer look reveals a speedy fix up with cheap materials. There is silicone caulk everywhere. Every crevice. Loads of caulk. Parking is inconvenient (forced double parking, gate closed and locked at 10 pm) and just as expensive as public overnight parking. Overall, the place went for a look that says luxury in pictures, but doesn't hold up in person.
The staff are nice, but won't go out of their way to be helpful. Given the quality of construction in the hotel, I doubt they're paid enough to want to put in that extra effort so I don't blame them.
The location is convenient and has easy access to the metro, but otherwise, the Eldon has little to offer. For $30 more, I could have stayed at the Marriott down the street. Assuming these prices are typical, I'll likely do just that next time I find myself in DC.
