Great location in DC

Pros: location
Cons: I paid $2.75 for a coffee mug of coffee, which I thought was a bit high since it did not allow refills. It would have been nice to be a little cheaper
Location: All of DC is close!
Close to Dupont and Logan Circles, bus and metro super close. Stayed for a conference, which meant I missed the free wine hour most nights, but when I was able to go, it was a nice bonus.

Good location, friendly staff.

The staff was friendly and gave suggestions for restaurants close by. Rooms are large, but some of the furniture needs to be updated and/or repaired. The price through Travelocity was just right!

Good location & affordable, but hidden fees

The location was good, but the hotel need quite a bit of investment. They charged me $15.00/day (plus tax) without my consent for "hotel fees," whatever that is. Staff was relatively friendly. But don't park at the hotel ($40.00/night is expensive). There are plenty of garages nearby (parkme.com) that are far cheaper.

Birthday Surprise for my Boyfriend

Pros: Decoration, design, redness, large room size
Cons: Breakfast options. I wanted a full breakfast that I didn't have to leave the hotel for.
Location: We didn't really do anything near the hotel. It was about a ten minute walk to the Metro station.
I booked this weekend trip for my boyfriend's 29th birthday. We live in Delaware and have been to DC many times but it was always with someone (a friend or a family member) and we realized that we had not had the chance to go there alone and just do what we wanted to do. I loved the red and black accents. These are my favorite colors and I love modern design and furniture so this hotel was right up my alley.

great hotel, central location

Pros: Quiet
Very trendy boutique hotel. The rooms are a good size for the DC area. Hotel sits to the side of an undrepass, so travelling north be sure to bear to the right otherwise you will miss the hotel. BTW the wine reception was great.

Great hotel, just needs a few details polished to be perfect!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
We were really looking forward to Hotel Rouge, a red inspired hotel experience for a romantic weekend in DC. We were only slightly disappointed to find the room decorated with a pink lamp and orange dresser in hallway between room and bathroom. The room is decorated in red and black details so having a pink lamp is really distracting. The orange does not match anything in the room so it was a major eye sore. The bathroom has virtually no red details, perhaps an added piece of art would have been nice. Other than these random details, the room was quite lovely. The 2nd disappointment was in house keeping. They did not replace the glasses in mid-hallway (we had allocated the 1st nights for flowers) or the wine glasses we had requested the 1st night. The bathroom went from 3 towels to 2 towels, tissue dispenser has a broken lid and by 2nd day house keeping didn't fold over the tissue where if they had, would have noticed the broken lid. These are small details but after traveling to Asia and experiencing 5 star service at hotels, I'm accustomed to details being perfect and consistent. We found the Bellhop to be the friendliest guy we've ever met. He was extremely helpful in giving us options for touring DC and the front desk crew were very nice. We also liked the consistency of seeing the same faces each day. Finally, we loved finding Whole Foods nearby along with many wonderful restaurant options. This hotel is in a cute neighborhood which lets you experience local DC life in the evenings but is close enough to the Metro to head into the city for a day of museums.

So so

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: Nothing close
for our first trip to dc this hotel was ok. It was a little more modern and artsy for me but the price was ok and I really like the kimpton hotel chain. All though Close walking distance to the metro rail and tucked away in a dupont neighborhood this hotel ould not be my choice for a return visit for normal dc tourist activities. Try this hotel if you like architecture and embassies.

Very enjoyable experience.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
I loved the funky, colorful rooms! The staff was very friendly and helped me enjoy Washington D.C. by suggesting places to see when I had free time. The hotel is located near a Whole Foods Market and other great shops, easily walkable even in winter.

Rouge was perfect.

We were staying in DC only Saturday night, so I chose Rouge for it's price, location, and other positive reviews. I was not disappointed. Our flight actually landed us in town at 11am, so it was only noon when we arrived by metro. Ice cold water with lemon was the first thing we noticed in the lobby (scorching temperatures). Though check in was not until three, they got us in a room immediately for which I was immensely grateful. Wow! The rooms are huge, and nicely appointed, with two grand windows up on the ninth floor. The furniture and lamps were a bit funky, in a good way, which I was already expecting from the reviews I read. Enlarging the bathroom would be my only suggestion. I give extra points for the delightful soaps in the bath, they smelled lovely. The location was perfect, with the White House in direct view straight down 16th, and Dupont Circle so close. I recommend this hotel, and would stay here again.
