Everything about this hotel is fabulous - location (right on King Street in Old Town Alexandria), beautiful decor, very comfy bed, great coffee, friendly staff and good food. I highly recommend this hotel.

Fabulous

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Daily parking fee ($38) caught me by surprise. If advertised, it was to subtle for me.
Location: Perfect location. Most sites within an easy walk.
Stayed three nights during the Scottish Christmas Parade weekend; pure bliss at The Morrison House. Breakfasts were great. Excellent bar! Good location. Recommend without hesitation to those visiting Alexandria, VA..

Very nice hotel, in the middle of old town.

Very nice, clean and quiet. Building is of period design, in the middle of Old Town Alexandria. Very short distance to King street, the waterfront and the Metro and everything in between.

Nice area but...

After traveling all day we wanted to just relax and have a quiet dinner. The hotel informed us when we finally got there and checked in that there was a wedding going on and we could not eat there, the dining room was closed for this activity. It is a small place already and the entire place was filled with wedding guests. It was less than quiet and we could not enjoy the premises because of it. We were not informed of this when we booked our room, it would have been nice to have the option to stay somewhere else where we could have enjoyed full amenities

Stellar customer service!

Pros: Quiet
My first stay at this cozy little boutique hotel, but will definitely not be my last. Only about 50 rooms which allows them to FOCUS on customer service. Really enjoyed the manager's wine social each night and sing along in the bar on Tuesday. The hotel staff was extremely attentive and this hotel is totally pet friendly at no extra charge. Conveniently located in Old Town Alexandria, walking distance to Metro as well as all the restaurants and shops. Price was very reasonable for the area. No pool or fitness center, but their sister hotel about 6 blocks away has both available to guests.

Really friendly staffs

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: parking
Everything is good except for their parking. They offered valet but never said anything about $25/day parking fee. However, overall it was a good experience. Excellent service.

Perfect Room, Perfect Price

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, super comfy bed!
I used to live in Alexandria and was thrilled to be able to book a room at the Morrison House for such a good price. This hotel is smack in the middle of Old Town, in walking distance to dozens of restuarants, shops and colonial attractions. The room was immaculte and the bed incredibly comfortable. The decore is quaint colonial with modern upgrades - I would have loved to have stayed here with my husband. I was travelling with my 2 year old son and the hotel staff was very helpful and accomidating with my requests. I will definitely seek out the Morrison House on my next trip to Alexandria.
