I made a reservation at the Francis Hotel, Bath through hotels.com to celebrate a wedding anniversary on the 28th December 2023, for a cost of £219. Unfortunately, my wife and I both came down with COVID shortly before our stay and decided to be safe and not attend. I contacted the Francis Hotel on the 26th December 2023 to inform them that we could not attend, requesting either a refund or change of date. The reception staff informed me that as the reservation was made through a third party (Hotels.com), there was nothing they could do, and encouraged me to contact Hotels.com direct. I subsequently contacted Hotels.com, who informed me that the decision on a refund or change of dates lies with the Francis Hotel, and not them. Confused as to who I should contact, I again emailed the Francis Hotel requesting a refund or change of date to the booking but have heard nothing in reply. Disappointed that neither hotels.com or the Francis Hotel can assist in this matter.
