Great place for those who think about budget first and comfort second

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
The location of this hotel is unbeatable: very close to St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. The downside is that rooms are very small; folding shower doors in the shower are a problem if you want to keep the floor dry. The lobby doesn't have a ceiling, and the carpet there is always damp producing some unpleasant odor. If you can tolerate all these things, however, you get what you pay for, because the price for this hotel is very moderate.

Not bad, but not the best either

The San Lio is located in one of the busier parts of Venice. This is good because it puts you close to places like St. Mark's Square and the Rialto, but it also means always being in a crowd. The check-in system is complex, involving a video conference with the desk clerk (who is in another building) and some back and forth to get the key and breakfast (probably not worth the *). The room was musty, but not dirty. The air conditioning and all the plumbing worked.This hotel had all the features a traveler who isn't too picky will need. You know you're in a budget room, but you're also getting a night in Venice for* dollars cheaper than more full-service places.
