Great location but hotel had glitches!

While hotel was in a great location and nice for the price a few negatives stood out. We arrived in the morning from a red eye flight hoping for a possible early check-in. Front desk encouraged us to check back in a few hours. After killing a couple hours we returned but nothing yet. Sitting in the cozy lobby we nodded off sitting up. I was abruptly awakened by management with a smack on my foot, placed on footstool "no sleeping here!" he said abruptly. I was embarrassed and angry at his approach.
While the room was in clean condition, each of the four nights of our stay, housecleaning never cleared old coffee & water cups. I mentioned to front desk after 1st day but it continued entire stay.
On the positive, room service breakfast was great. Best I've ever had. Doormen were wonderful. Considering all, I would still return but more prepared for some negatives.

First and foremost please accept my apologies for not accommodating you early in the morning due to the hotel being sold out a night prior your arrival. Also please let me apologize for the security officer's comment on you resting in the lobby. Thank you for the compliments on our bell staff and room service quality. We still hope you will be coming back to stay with us again despite of the flaws you experienced on your first visit to the Empire. We will make sure you next stay will be wonderful and enjoyable.
