A Really Lovely Hotel in Tokyo

Pros: Gorgeous views, nice bed, nice dressing table and bathroom
Cons: Possibly a little updating
I've stayed at this hotel twice; and, it's very nice. The rooms are small; but, not too small. The hotel's garden is lovely! I would recommend asking for a room that faces the garden. The hotel is also walking distance to the subway and trains. I highly recommend it!!

Outstanding Service/Stay

This hotel can support all of your needs during your stay. The staff speaks English which is a big help. However, I did find that the night shift to be more helpful with our needs. The hotel can set up your city tour for Tokyo and out to Mt.Fuji & the tour line offers to feed you as well, for a fee of course. Eating at the hotel can add up, but i'd advise you eat any meal on he 40th floor, the view is perfect on a clear day. The hotel does offer a club to join called, "The New Otani Club" this memebership will make your meals a little cheaper on site & give you some other perks as well. The hotel rooms are a little smaller, beds are more firm & don't have any irons, but with a quick call they'll bring one to you. With that said you must understand its Japan, not the USA as for room size standards (Smaller People). The hotel location is perfect, you can walk to nearby Subway, KFC, McD's and DDonuts which kept me happy. So get out walk around & when you see folks standing in a line, Go get in it! That means whatever it is its good... Our stay was outstanding, planning to reutrn w/kids next time.

Hotel New Otani Akasaka

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
This hotel was an older upscale one. The staff was very professional, courteous, and attentive. It is located very close to the Metro station, for which I used for all my traveling within Tokyo. There is also Asakasa Mitsuke, an area filled with restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and convenience stores, located across the street from the hotel. We had three people in our traveling party. We had our own beds in a separate bedroom from the living room. The bedroom was a bit small, but the living room was large. Great hotel at a great price.

Nice hotel with both Japanese and American style - gardens are beautiful and Akasaka is just outside the door - wonderful place to get to know Tokyo

Memorable stay and wonderful hotel

Pros: Quiet, great staff, excellent view of garden and waterfall
Hotel New Otani is a wonderful hotel. The staff is courteous and the concierge is quite helpful, even if you stay at the Towers. There's an excellent cafe area that looks over the old garden and waterfall - it's a sight to behold. I'll remember eating breakfast there while relaxing. It's conveniently located in the heart of Tokyo, beds are comfortable, great views of the city, and staff is excellent - what more could you ask for? I recommend this hotel with five stars.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE

This is just an amazing hotel with a friendly and courteous staff. Very helpful and very fluent in English. Train and subway stations are very close. The gardens are beautiful. On Sunday they even have christian church services in the garden. On a clear day if you eat at buffet on the 40th floor you can see Mt. Fuji! and Tokyo Tower! It is simply amazing! Everything is super simple to charge to the room and Akasaka is within easy walking distance. There are some amazing shops in the basement of the hotel and they can even perform weddings there. There is internet in the rooms and you are charged by the day for use. The beds are firm and the bathrooms are sized for foreigners. The restaurants in the hotel are over priced especially since Akasaka is so close and you can get great Soba for less than 500 yen. This hotel is a great base of operation for any excursions into or around Tokyo. Didnt like to pay for pool use but it would have been nice if it was included in the room. Will Return Again.

Great Hotel

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. Make sure you check out the garden: just magnificient. Great restaurants in Akasaka Mitsuki across the highway if you leave from the tower exit. I would highly reccomend this hotel and plan to stay here again my next trip to Tokyo

Excellent Hotel!

This hotel has it all, starting with the venue, the gardens the museum, the restaurants and most of all, the staff. The hotel has to be one of the best, if not the best, in Tokyo.

First class all the way!

From the moment I stepped into the hotel until the morning I checked out I was treated with the most absolute care. The staff always greeted me with a smile and were ready to answer any questions I had. The rooms were always clean and comfortable with a newspaper waiting at my door in the morning. The location is fabulous! The Akasaka-Mitsuke station is a block away and with 5 lines servicing that station, so you can travel to almost any part of Tokyo in no time. The Japanese Tea Garden was amazing and a must see while you are there! The koi were so big! The restaurants inside the hotel are also very nice, but extremely overpriced. If you have $30 to splurge on a breakfast buffet, then by all means, go for it. I do have to admit, its a pretty nice spread. There are plenty of restaurants nearby the hotel that are just as good without the expensive price tag. When I return to Tokyo, I will definitely stay this hotel again!
