Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown

Pros: location location location
Room was small but very comfortable. We were only there to sleep anyway. It was a last minute booking and they were very accomodating to our needs. Wine in the evening. Coffee and tea in the morning. Parking was a shocker at $63 - the highest we've ever encountered!

Like most downtown hotels, we do not operate our own parking structure, so we have contracted a competitive rate for our parking services through a third party. Should your travels bring you back downtown and you don't need the in and out access that our valet provides, we suggest looking into one of the many parking garages in the area. The wow factor that I had was for the staff. Starting from check-in they seemed genuinely interested in helping you. I knew that I booked the smaller room but failed to realize how tight it would be. I won’t do that again. My problem was with the bed linins. Pulling back the comforter we notice something on the sheet then noticed something under it. The mattress pad had a 3x3 blood stain. This is something that housekeeping decided was OK. Called the desk they offer to change our room but we were unpacked and dressed for bed. They sent housekeeping to change the linins on the bed which was done promptly. The manager came to the room and took a picture of the stain and asked what he could do for us. I’m sorry but it makes you think what else is “good enough”. The rate was good and the staff was friendly so I would return. I just hope they figure out how to avoid the good enough attitudes.

Rooms are very small and walls are thin but room has lots of style, bed is comfortable and location is great.

Thanks for staying with us and sharing your feedback! Being that we are a historic hotel, we unfortunately cannot do too much deconstruction of our room size. However, I'm glad you enjoyed the Allegro's style - we'd love to have you back again, perhaps in a different room type!

Great stay at Allegro... clean and very nice. only drawback is that the rooms are tiny!

Amazing stay. First, I took the red eye to meet my daughter in a city I had never been before, understanding I probably would not be able to check in until the normal check in time, but ready to power through and see the city. But, the my surprise I was able to check in at 8:30am, what a life saver!!! We were able to clean up and rest. The trip started on that note and stayed wonderful. Lovely bar, beautiful "old school" lobby, afternoon refreshments and the most comfortable bed ever. Every staff member went above and beyond. The only thing I would improve was breakfast at the in house dining room. The coffee was not good and the breakfast was below average for the price. The location was central to all the local attractions and theatre. Highly recommend!
