Staff were excellent; the property needs updating; the breakfast buffet was chaotic and food options were quite different. I prefer Seda Manila Bay breakfast buffet.

On Dec 2, 2023, I fell and hurt both my knees due to the unsafe mini stage where the Christmas display was placed. It was immediately changed after my accident when they realized that there was a safety concern. The nurse immediately applied first aid treatment and with the pain med that she gave me I was able to attend our HS Golden Jubilee Reunion that day ( reason why I went home for 2 weeks ) With the help of pain med and careful movements, I was able to do some activities but it came to a point where the pain was getting worse. That was when I requested an X Ray. The Seda Hotel doctor , Dr Young Chang, refused and stated that it was normal part of healing , and that it would go away in time. I got upset because in the first place, I had sustained injuries for unsafe reason and to take my pain lightly was just unacceptable. When he saw how upset I was, he stated “ OK, I will pay for your X Ray”. It was hard to believe that Seda Hotel is owned by the Ayalas but looks like it has no good medical plan for guests who have sustained an injury at their facility. Anyway, after some convincing, I was brought to St Luke’s but this is what I can only advise to those Balikbayan who are planning to stay there ; Just be careful of your Safety there. Please give it a careful thought bec no matter how good the service and the staff are, when it comes to rendering costly med procedures, they would think twice about it.
