Hawaii in the Caribbean

Posted Dec 29, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Only thing missing was the local food. Menu reflects the UK and US rather than the local fare.
Location: Best to stay and relax as the bay offers kayaking, sailing and snorkeling or book a taxi tour up the leeward side with "Trunks" to the Dark View Falls
St. Vincent is a beautiful volcanic island covered in jungle with streams and waterfalls abundant. The resort reflects the environment as do the staff. Accommodations reflect the leisure atmosphere and the grounds are impeccably manicured. For the fitness set: there is an excellent trainer. Fritzy does beach boot camp and yoga for weight loss. Don't be intimidated by the wording boot camp. It is an excellent all around work out for anyone at any level!

Needs Improvement but would visit again....

Pros: Keisha from the bay(lol), The property is beautiful and peaceful
Cons: The housekeeping schedule is unorganized, too many flies at the bay, it was a little dissappointing, I mean hundreds all over the food.
Location: There are many activities to do that you can do you just have to schedule them.
Overall my stay there was excellent with just a few dissappointments. For starters I was not aware that the plugs over seas are different from usa, I had an issue with my hot curler and when I went to the front desk a gentlemen just shrugged his shoulders. I was able to get a transformer (it was my birthday) Some of the staff are cold and distant. Keisha from the bay was the most professional caring person on that property, she made sure I was happy. Keisha made all the difference in my stay. Romel from Jacks was very attententive, A night shift supervisor light skinned man from Trinidad was exceptional, he should be the general manager. Housekeeping comes into your room unannounced. I didnt like how they just drop off towels in a bag in front of your room. The way its structured it makes the property look sloppy. I was told to leave my dirty dishes outside and I would be gone for hours and come back with the dishes in front of my villa. I feel the staff needs additional training on customer service. At check in the young lady with twist in her hair was very accomodating and helpful. I would definitely visit again. Keisha you are the best...........the decorative pillows were worn out and dirty, the beach umbrella's were faded it took away the feel of luxury. Management team needs to be restructured. This resort has potential.

Unfortunate events

Pros: The villas were nice and the grounds were well maintained. Some staff are very nice and helpful.
Cons: Equal treatment to everyone, no matter what country or region of the world they come from. World is changing, it is a global economy. Equality for all
The first 2 days were great with excellent treatment. Afterwards we felt isolated, we reserved our pool chairs and they were given to others. People around the pool were served and attended to but not us (entire stay). We served and did everything ourselves. We always had to ask for water since our fridge wasn't stocked all the time. One day we had no toilet paper for the entire day, only when they brought us towels in the evening we got toilet paper. We also had no towels because there machine was broken, until the evening. We had bottled water in the fridge, to our surprise when drinking, it had sprite in it. We had a private beach front dinner, however there were 2 stray dogs around us, when we complained the staff told us not to worry about it. We had 3 days of massages booked (part of our package), after the horrible rude service and inadequate massage on the first day, we never returned. We had booked a dinner at The Bay restaurant, after a one hour wait at our tables with no food (people that came after us, got there dinner and dessert) we noticed our food got taken to the wrong table and rejected back to the kitchen. We asked the server, she lied by saying "guests ahead of you haven't received there dinner". My wife contacted the front desk, the manager of The Bay restaurant contacted us and apologized, he sent champagne and dinner to our room, however it wasn't made well (we had cream pasta with no cream), so we didn't eat it. This was a honeymoon disaster.
