Quick trip for grad school interview

Pros: Location, price, cleanliness
Cons: Breakfast is offered and the selections were what one would expected. The area was a little cramped.
Location: Convenient to downtown St Augustine, 5 miles or so and our university destination.
We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel in St. Augustine for a two night stay. The Best Western was convenient to the Interstate and the price was good. The room was basic, clean and the beds were comfortable. We were on the first floor so there was a little parking lot noise, but turning the AC to constant fan covered that.

Carpet was filthy

Pros: Clean, comfy bed.
Cons: Replace filthy, frayed carpeting.
Location: Spent night going through.
The carpet was so filthy that bottom of my feet were black! Shower should have a hold bar. Plus side bed was clean and comfortable. Everything else was clean, tub, furniture surfaces, etc. Should have listened to reviews I read on travel sites. Price was cheap, you get what you pay for. Why aren't hotels/motels putting in rolled or wood flooring that can be steam c leaned?

close to I-95 for easy assess.

Pros: Quiet with friendly staff.
Cons: Staff did not know much about the area in terms of restaurants.
Location: Close to I-95 with access to shopping and restaurants. Depending on traffic 15-25 minutes to downtown/Historical St Augustine/beaches.
Overall quiet hotel especially next to an Interstate. Close to several chain restaurants (walk-able) and next to a large outlet mall. Breakfast was the same daily offering eggs and bacon, bagels, juice etc. Husband stated the coffee was excellent. Bathroom was small with no vent. Bed was comfortable. This Best Western was pet friendly and had enough room to walk the dog and seemed to place guests with pets in the same area of the hotel which was nice. Overall would stay in this Best Western again.

Better than some reviews led me to believe

Pros: Location
Cons: Staff knowledge about amenities/room equipment
Location: Next door to several good restaurants and near the Outlet malls. Only a short drive to the Beaches.
Room was clean and well stocked. Beds weren't SUPER comfortable..but what can you expect away from your own bed? Most of the staff were friendly during the day. The only compliant is that when questioned about a carafe for the coffee pot, the night person told us that she couldn't give us one and that we could either wait until morning or change rooms. We found out from the day person that their pots didn't use carafes but were single cup pots. Easy enough. Don't know why the night person didn't know this. Overall, our stay was pleasant and we will definitely stay again.

The housekeepers kept our room fresh..it was clean. Our only problem was a nasty neighbor.

Excellent location, Outlet mall right there

Pros: The convenient location.
Cons: They should put fridges and microwaves in each room. Put tea bags in the room ( the receptionist was kind enough to give us some)
Location: You can visit stores and walk around the city. The expressway is right there (I-95). It is well located so you can travel anywhere easily.
The room and the hotel were clean and the staff was very friendly. Nice hot breakfast in the morning. It has a Crackel Barrel and a Dennys right next to it and the Outlet Mall and many other things are very close to it. Parking spaces are enough for every room. Free wifi. The downsides are that there are no elevators so you need to pack light, ice machine was broken, no fridge or microwave in the room.

Decent Stay

The hotel was a decent stay if you just want a place to sleep in. The beds are comfortable. However it was huge downer that the rooms did not have a fridge or microwave. Our room smelled a little musty and the front desk staff when I got there wasn't too enthusiastic or friendly. They were nice but a little short, not so welcoming.

This hotel would be best for a one night stay.

Pros: Positives included the cleanliness, friendly staff, and a very tasty free continental breakfast. Also, the wi-fi worked very well.
Cons: The room needs a microwave and mini-fridge. I was not aware that some hotels today don't include these, as I have never seen a hotel without them.
Location: Very convenient to downtown St. Augustine. Located minutes away from outlet malls. Tons of chain restaurants around (if that's your thing).
This hotel is right off the expressway and quite conveniently located. We were disappointed in nearly every other aspect of our stay. We came into St. Augustine for the half marathon. The room was clean, but there was no fridge and no microwave. This made it nearly impossible for us to prepare for our race. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable bed I ever tried to sleep on. It felt like a piece of cardboard attached to a couple of springs. The pillows were smaller than standard size pillows, and my head barely fit on them. There was no comfortable area to relax in the room. Although the walls between rooms were ok, we could have slept in the parking lot and heard less outside noise. Every door that opened, car that drove by, and booming stereo may have well been inside our room with us. One morning was made complete by a beeping garbage truck waking us at 400 am. I never slept more than two hours straight here, which made recovering from the race impossible. We couldn't wait to get home and get some sleep! I have been to St. Augustine many times. Next time I will fork over more money to stay at a nicer place. I guess that's what we get for trying to save a few bucks.

Location: Go shopping at the outlet mall
The hotel has been remodeled. The rooms have new beds which are very comfortable. Wide variety to choose from for breakfast.
