I agree with a lot of the negative reviews about this place; I should have listened.  I wanted a cheaper ocean view hotel for our 20 year wedding anniversary & what we got is not the experience I was hoping for.  We arrived infatuated with the beautiful beach & left as fast as we could from the sleepless noisy night before.   If you request room #5, that is the best room.  They made us change rooms to room 1 after our 3rd day, after we already paid..... & our experience went downhill from there.  No water in my shower, toilet plugged, door broken, light blaring on our bed at night despite repeated requests to remove bright strobe light,  no safe in room as promised, same breakfast everyday with watered down coffee & burnt toast. We wanted to have a nice vacation & not have to ask for every little thing; we payed $258/ night it should have been much more luxurious for this price in Mexico! My advice:  know which room you are getting BEFORE you pay if you decide to stay here &  SEE the room.  Will we stay there again?  No unless it was 1/2 the price for the trouble, not worth more than $100/ night & not up to western standards.

The staff and accommodations are amazing. The room was absolutely beautiful: thatched roof with a full glass wall and balcony jutting out from from the cliff, giving you the sense of being one with jungle surroundings and the crashing (or lapping) waves below. And you didn't lack for amenities: the room has a large luxuriously appointed bathroom. It was incredibly peaceful. We arrived a day late due to food poisoning in Puerta Vallarta. Food service had shut down by the time we arrived and Adrian and Lorenzo arranged to have food (for a limited diet!) delivered. There was only one other couple there (oddly some of the travel sites showed they were fully booked). The hotel is nicely appointed but the other review about "rough around the edges" is accurate. It is a bumpy road to the hotel, there is a steep incline to the facility and no or limited on-site services at night. But having traveled around the world to tropical locals this place is right up there and you will be well rewarded for the effort getting there is . Take it for what it is: a chic but sleepy, secluded paradise.
