Comfortable rooms at a reasonable price

Pros: Comfortable bed with real quilt, vs those rubber blankets at other hotels.
Cons: The hallway in front of the elevator could be spruced up a bit.
Location: Easy access to freeways and the entire Bay Area of things to do.
Down in the Bay Area for medical reasons, we needed a room for several days. Most hotels were excessively expensive for what is basically a room. This was a good bed, clean, eggs and sausage, yoghurt and fruit in the breakfast included. Close to the freeways. Good WIFI. Couldn't ask for much more.

Nice hotel

Pros: Clean
Cons: Needs to have a good update. repainting, update drapes, fix older parts of hotel that are wearing out.
Location: several restaurants in area. there is kfc, carls jr, quick marl in the same parking lot. As noted above walking in this area felt safe, comfortable.
hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. It is a older building that probably needs to be updated. Elevator was just weird. It is a hotel that doesn't require hotel key to be in the building at night. So anybody can just walk up to your room door. That being said it seems to be a very nice area as I regularly saw people walking street in front of hotel (students, runners, etc)

Stay at a different hotel, if possible.

Pros: It was close to where my business was located.
Cons: Non-smoking staff.
Location: Good restaurants in the area.
There are three reasons why I would not stay at this hotel again. 1. When I checked into the hotel, the person behind the desk did not take all my information right there, he took my driver's license and credit card to a back room . I do not like that information leaving my sight. I want that procedure done right in front of me. 2. The staff smoked cigarettes outside the hall that lead down the rooms. Unfortunately, I had a room closest to the outside where they smoked. I consider this unprofessional behavior on the part of the staff. 3. Around eleven o'clock one night, the smoke alarm in the room started to beep. When I informed the staff, which was outside smoking they said they would attend to it. They waited to finish their cigarettes first before one of the smokers came in to inspect the situation. He decided a ladder was needed which he got back he took the battery out of the alarm. Without the battery the alarm continued to sound. He came back and said that they were looking for a battery so it took a whole hour before a new battery was found. Twice I had to go to the front desk to complain about the alarm sounding. As a business woman, who had to get up extremely early the next morning, losing an hour's sleep that late at night was not a good way to start a business day.

The price was a bit high but the fixtures are nice

Pros: The staff and the fixtures in the bathroom.
Cons: The bed. The price.
I thought for the money the quality of the mattress should have been better. The staff was very helpful and atmosphere is relaxed.

Ok but scary

Cons: Noisy
This is definitely an older travel hotel and the elevator is certainly an experience! The thumbnail picture really doesn't do it justice as the hotel is actually behind some fast food and strip centers in a relatively rundown area. It's not nearly as inviting as the thumbnail makes it appear. Most of the parking is to the rear after driving through/under the center of the hotel. Room was ok, but impossible to cool, so I had to leave the window open and listen to traffic noise all night.
