The most Aloha a hotel can provide!

I was skeptical about the price per night, but it was definitely worth it with the numerous amenities (e.g. complimentary croquet, game room, and coffee hour; fitness center; thermal pool). The lodge is a very serene venue, perfect for someone who works a strenuous career and wants to get away. The room was clean, despite its country look. The bed was absolutely the most comfortable I've ever slept in at a resort. Housekeeping always greeted us in the hallways, including other guests. The concierge team was very personal, asking us questions to see if they could recommend any activities or to see if we needed directions to the island's attractions. They even followed up with us on our activities to see how we liked it upon checking out. I'm definitely saving to return for a longer stay!

Excellent experience overall

Pros: Quiet, facilities
Cons: No free Internet, the dining room was terrible
Recently stayed for 5 nights, 4 days. Pro: beautiful grounds, closer to the city (with non-resort dining options and shops), can use the facilities at both resorts on lanai, extremely luxurious, feeling of being in a private residence, quiet, fewer children compared to the beach front resort. Con: the Dining Room. The upscale restaurant at the Lodge. Poor quality, overly salty, flavor lacked depth. Pricy. Extremely disappointed. Not up to par with food at the Lanai City Grill. Good ingredients, but poorly prepared. We ate at 6 different establishments on the island during our visit, this was the worst meal. In fact, one of the worst meals I've had in years. Comparing to Manele Bay resort: better for adults, more of an old money feel, has more character. Manele is geared more for children, family, and feels like a typical beach resort one can find in Caribbean.

amazing vacation

Pros: Quiet
I live on Oahu and was a bit skeptical about vacationing in Lanai because I am a bit of a city boy. But my vacation at The Lodge at Koele was absolutely amazing!!! It was like being in another part of the country, with it's breathtaking views, hometown charm and beautiful pine trees. I almost felt like I was back home in Michigan. And the staff and ammenities at The Lodge were spectacular. From dining in the elgant dining room to playing croquet in the afternoon, it was a wonderful experience and not one I will soon forget. I would recommed this to tourists and locals alike:)

Beautiful place

Pros: Quiet
Cons: hotel restaurants on the pricey side
We visited in off-season, very quiet and peaceful. Lodge is a short shuttle trip to town, and a much longer trip to the sister hotel on the beach. No need for a car here. Rented a jeep for a day to see trails on the north side of the island. Golf course is manicured and looks like a post card.

one word: phenomenal

If you are looking to truly get away from it all, then the Lodge at Koele is a perfect choice. You have full access to both the Lodge and nearby Resort; the service is exceptional, the food is excellent; and your every need is taken care of. A perfect holiday! The town is tiny but it offers some additional restaurant choices. I would suggest a 2-4 night stay.

Quiet Paradise

Be ready for "Island Time". The residents of Lana'i are friendly and helpful. Remeber to pack some cool weather clothing. The evenings can be chilly at 1800 feet. Pack Smores supplies and sit by a fire under a blanket & look at the stars. :) The piano player in the Lodge during the evening, Kimo Garner, is fabulous! Even if you stay at the sister resort at Manele Bay, go to the Lodge for an evening when Kimo is playing. The food is expensive but good. One caution, don't order the Nachos... the cheese is nasty, powdery non-cheese. The shuttle to the beach is convenient & you rarely have to wait long to get from one resort to the other. Rent a Jeep for a day & go to the Garden of the Gods. It is beautiful! Caution, if you don't enjoy 4x4 activity you won't want to go all the way to the beach below the Garden. It is not an easy trek but it is beautiful and very remote (no services and very few people). Diving is wonderful. During our stay the whales were singing in the distance & the dolphins playing nearby. The clarity was 75-100 feet & the varieties of fish abundant, even during beach dives in front of the Manele Bay Resort. The boat dives were great too!

Awesome resort, and sister property too!

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons Lodge at Koele over Thanksgiving - wow, what a wonderful place! This is truly the top end of hotels! We were contacted by the hotel 2 days in advance to arrange our airport pickup, and greeted at the airport and promptly whisked up to the resort. We were served welcom drinks at a table while they checked us in, bringing the paperwork to us as we relaxed. Our room was amazing, beautifully decorated, spotless, and probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in (and that's saying a lot as I travel 10+ times a year)! The grounds are gorgeous, golfing amazing (though note, the golf course is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays which we didn't see noted anywhere until we got there). The lobby is so much more, it's truly a lodge in a historic grand sense. Food was awesome, though expensive (but hey, you're on LANAI!). The best part was the shuttle service to the other Four Seasons on the island, the Manele beach resort (where Bill Gates got married!). People staying at the resorts can all use the amenities of both. The shuttle service (to both resorts, beach, the city, and airport) was $* per person for unlimited use during the whole stay. Totally worth it (and not a lot of other options unless you want to mess around with renting a car, I never saw a taxi). This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had. We'll totally stay at this resort again in the future!!
