We arrived around 7 and very tired. The hotel restaurant was fully booked. But we were able to order a full meal from the restaurant and the friendly restaurant stuff sent it to our room. Food was delicious.

The view was excellent and the staff very competent and friendly. One of the best experiences we had while in Iceland.

Great Stay

Pros: The hotel staff were polite and helpful. Love the afternoon happy hours...good chance to chat with other guests or just relax.
Location: Walking distance (up and down some steep hills, but still walking distance) into downtown Akureyri.
Had a wonderful, quiet stay. Room was large, clean, nice bedding, a little hot pot tray for coffee and/or tea in the room. Tons of storage and a couch that could have been a sleeping area for one additional person. Was just there over the Easter weekend, so lots of other guests initially, but rooms were quiet and we never heard anything from our room. Sink and vanity is in the main part of the room. Ate at the Aurora restaurant our first night and food and service were excellent. Had breakfast (not brunch) next morning, which was good, but was just closing down for brunch service and was more towards European breakfast (cold meats, cheeses, fish) than towards American. Self made waffles smelled amazing, but I never made it to the station before they closed down, since other guests were busy making their waffles! Happy hour each afternoon from 4-6 was a great bargain. High tea is offered each afternoon, but we never remembered until happy hour time. The staff were always happy and helpful.
